Usually, at the end of August, viewers prepare for the film fall before the awards season. However, like everything else this pandemic year, expectations are likely to change.
Movie theaters are slowly starting to reopen as other people weigh in theaters for primary premieres such as Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi mystery “Tenet” (released Monday) and the long-awaited superhero sequel “Wonder Woman 1984” (October 2). But for moviegoers who live where theaters open or don’t feel safe, Netflix and various other streaming facilities are bringing new videos to home devices this fall.
Some films are difficult on their theatrical dates, from the police comedy “Kajillionaire” (September 18) to the horror redesign “Candyman” (October 16). Waiting to see if those dates are still in even doubtful times, what is moving towards streaming is much more robust.
