2020 Shady Rays 200 odds, top predictions: NASCAR Xfinity Series picks from model that nailed the Daytona 500

The NASCAR Xfinity Series continues to make up for lost time as it hosts its 10th event since May 21 when the 2020 Shady Rays 200 gets underway at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday from Kentucky Speedway. It’s the first of two Xfinity Series races at this 1.5-mile tri-oval, with the 2020 Alsco 300 following on Friday. Cole Custer won the Xfinity Series race at Kentucky in 2019.

Custer is now a full-time Cup Series driver, and it is Xfinity Series points leader Chase Briscoe who is listed as the favorite in the 2020 Shady Rays 200 odds from William Hill at 5-2. Rookie Noah Gragson is next on the Xfinity Series Kentucky odds board at 9-2, while Ross Chastain and Justin Allgaier are both getting 5-1. Before locking in any 2020 Shady Rays 200 picks or entering a NASCAR DFS contest on a site like FanDuel or DraftKings, be sure to see the NASCAR Xfinity Series predictions from the proven model at SportsLine.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary NASCAR prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking into account factors such as track history and recent results.

The model began the 2020 NASCAR season by picking Denny Hamlin to win his second consecutive Daytona 500 at 10-1. It got off to a hot start on its NASCAR picks following the coronavirus hiatus as well, calling seven of the top 10 drivers at The Real Heroes 400 and the Toyota 500 at Darlington.

Using the model, McClure also recommended an outright play on winner Brad Keselowski at 13-1 as one of his best bets at Bristol. The model also called Kevin Harvick’s win at Atlanta and nailed a whopping nine top-10 finishers in that race. McClure also used the model to lock in an outright bet on Hamlin winning at 10-1 at Miami.

And last week at The Brickyard, the model called Harvick’s fourth victory of the season. Additionally, McClure used the model to identify winner Noah Gragson (13-1) as one of his best bets in the Xfinity Series 2020 Cheddar’s 300 last month. Anybody who has follow the model has seen some huge returns.

Now, the model simulated the 2020 Shady Rays 200 on Thursday, July 9 10,000 times. Head here to see the complete projected leaderboard.

For the 2020 Shady Rays 200, the model is high on Myatt Snider even though he’s a giant 75-1 long shot in the Xfinity Series Kentucky odds. He’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. The 25-year old driver found plenty of success on the Truck Series, and now he’s been contending as a part-time driver on the Xfinity Series.

He’s recorded top-10 finishes in two of his last four Xfinity Series races, taking fourth at Pocono and seventh in the second Miami race. He also recorded a fifth-place run at Bristol. Despite those successes, he’s still drawing extremely long odds for Thursday, making him one of the 2020 Shady Rays 200 bets you should be all over.

And a massive shocker: Ross Chastain, one of the Vegas favorites at 5-1, stumbles big-time and barely cracks the top three. There are far better values in this loaded 2020 Shady Rays 200 starting lineup. Chastain has been a regular in the top 10 this year, but is still looking for his first outright win.

Kentucky hasn’t been a great track for him historically. He has an average finish position of 29.50 in his two Cup Series runs here, and hasn’t been a lot better at the Xfinity level, barely averaging a top-20 finish. With short odds and not much history of success at Kentucky, Chastain is one of the 2020 Shady Rays 200 favorites to avoid on Thursday.

The model is also targeting two other drivers with 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series at Kentucky odds of 22-1 or longer to make a serious run at the checkered flag, including a massive triple-digit long shot. Anyone who backs these drivers could hit it big. You can only see them here.
