The Coen brothers have been writing some of the most productive discussions in Hollywood for decades. Joel and Ethan Coen’s comedies have some outrageous lines and that’s what this list is about. These are just a few of the Coen brothers’ most hilarious lines. ‘ canon.  

When Jackie Treehorn’s goons break into The Dude’s house, one of them picks up a bowling ball and asks what it is. The Dude (Jeff Bridges) looks at it and wonders out loud what game the ball belongs to.  

One of the things that makes Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) so special is her health. She even loves to tell jokes to Dad! For an expectant mother, this will be helpful.

John Malkovich’s character in Burn After Reading is very angry, almost all the time. This is no clearer than when you lose patience with a CIA colleague. He also doesn’t have much patience with others.  

The two women Marge meets at the bar of her research at Fargo are priceless. They’re full of hilarious dialogue, but when one of them talks about how “funny” Steve Buscemi’s character is, the scene comes to a close.  

After mistakenly believing that John Turturro’s character had been transformed into a toad, Everett becomes angry that his partner takes the amphibian to a restaurant while they eat. And you know what? He is not wrong. Leave the toad outside, or at least inside the box.  

The Dude puts up with a lot of nonsense from Walter (John Goodman). At several points, it turns out that he can’t stand the Vietnamese vet anymore, and the scene in the car when they are about to hand over the ransom money is one of them. Walter is a fool, most of the time. He affects all of us, man.  

In many ways, The Hudsucker Proxy is the pinnacle of the Coens’ absurd side. Obviously, this is noticeable when Tim Robbin’s character starts running around in the mailroom and has to dodge incoming letters and other people while his new boss shouts out regulations and regulations. It’s pretty much the worst position in the world to work.  

The courtroom scene in Intolerable Cruelty is so over-the-top that it crosses barriers even by the standards of the Coen brothers. When one party to the divorce has had enough and explodes on the witness stand to bring up a hostile witness, the opposing suggestion can only oppose it.  

One of the most iconic lines from The Big Lebowski appears when The Dude argues with millionaire Jeffery Lebowski and spits out a word he had learned earlier in the film when President George H. W. Bush said the same thing on television about Saddam’s invasion of Kuwait in the first one. Gulf War.

SALUT. I just can’t escape his criminal history in Raising Arizona and when he gets desperate, he falls back into his old bad ways. It’s also one of the funniest scenes in the movie.  

Jerry Lundergaard (William H. Macy) is crowded and dissatisfied, and one scene that reminds him of this is when a visitor he wants to sell a car to yells at him. Everyone can sympathize with this disappointed man.  

Brad Pitt is not a normal character in the Coen brothers’ films, but he is hilarious in Burn After Reading. The scene in the car where he tries to blackmail John Malkovich’s character is the best. The way he helps her keep squinting to utter his threats is the best for the character.  

John Goodman’s character Walter takes his Jewish religion seriously and in a scene in his pickup truck while raping on Saturday, he explains to The Dude precisely why he lives in the afterlife and how he is “as Jewish as Tevye” from Fiddler On. roof.

No one is more relieved than Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson) when it turns out that Pete (John Turturro) hasn’t been remodeled at all and is, in fact, not a toad.  

Buzz, the elevator operator, is the most annoying type of person, with horrible jokes coming out of his mouth in an endless stream. Still, he’s pretty funny for those of us who just watched The Hudsucker Proxy.

Larry Sellers blocks Walter still in The Big Lebowski when Walter tries to investigate what happened to The Dude’s car. He knows that these are Larry’s duties, but he knows nothing else.  

Much of Fargo’s charm lies in the wholesome goodness of the characters we meet in Marge’s investigation. Like the guy who had an altercation with the two kidnappers, but just couldn’t bring himself to use the bad words used by the bad guys.  

You can’t make a movie in the Depression South without some racists, and the Coens were experts at making them cartoonish and despicable, precisely what everyone else looked like. Like the guy who tries to criticize the Soggy Bottom Boys, but he looks like an idiot while he does it.  

Dads don’t realize what adorns their children’s pajamas, and Nathan Arizona (Trey Wilson) is no exception. The way she describes pajamas is wonderful. Because, you know, those are things that kids have in their pajamas! 

In Fargo, Marge is just the nicest woman to her friends and family, but she’s also an incredibly competent cop. Sure, it seems like innocence to some, but there’s something missing about her, especially the appearance that Jerry is looking to flee the dealership.  

Ed’s friend in Raising Arizona, Dot, played by Frances McDormand, is full of tough questions for Ed and H. I. , including the ridiculous question of what would happen if H. I. she appeared as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.  

Barton Fink was the Coens’ first foray into more serious things, yet they never escaped their absurd nature. This line from the film, spoken through Fink himself, is not so much funny-haha as funny-sad. Just like Fink.

The Ladykillers gets a bad rap, but it’s a better movie than most people give it credit for. Well, at least the opening scene is where Marva presents her complaint about the neighbors making too much noise and playing “hippity hop” music. She even upsets her late husband.  

What makes George Clooney say this phrase in O Brother Where Are Thou? It’s so wonderful how he temporarily shows how talkative his character is. That’s the key to the whole movie.   

No matter how many times Brad Pitt’s character explains to him what he intends to say about the CD he found, Manolo just doesn’t get it.  

Dot’s husband, Glen (Sam McMurray), is one of the most hateful characters in the entire Coen canon, and that means something. Tell me, this reminds me, why do you want to start with any and all questions, comments, and bad jokes saying?that??
