As a component of the first of many acquisitions, HumanCo will work with Coconut Bliss to make orepassn-based frozen dessert manufacturer a world-renowned brand. Karp’s project is incredibly personal. He shares: “When I was in my early twenties, I was very ill with many autoimmune diseases. The scariest thing I told you was going blind. I went down a lot of burrows to find out why I was in poor health when I was 23. I don’t know the cause, but I knew that when I massively cleaned my diet, eliminated caffeine and alcohol, started exercising and learned to sleep again, all my autoimmune diseases disappeared.

Inspired by Karp’s life-changing fitness experiences, HumanCo invests and creates corporations that make the cleanest and tastiest edition of a customer product, so they’ve partnered with Coconut Bliss. Karp says: “We are not venture capital. We’re not a fund. We are an exclusive company that supports, builds and creates logos. Karp co-founded Hu, who makes cookies without cereals and vegan chocolate, founded Hu Kitchen in New York and also invested in the Monty vegan cream cheese logo under HumanCo.

HumanCo, which will invest and expand health-focused GIC companies, raised $15 million in a Serie A led by Vista Equity Partners co-founder Brian Sheth. He has also attracted several notable angel investors, including Indra Nooyi (former President and CEO of PepsiCo), Trevor Edwards (former president of the Nike brand) and Karlie Kloss, style and philanthropist.

Karp’s goal is to create a corporate holding company of many successful brands that can be maintained indefinitely. He says: “This is a approach to buying, building and promoting. This is a buying and building approach.”

Over the past five months, Karp and his team have evaluated more than 50 pitches. They start with a deep dive into the fitness and sustainability parts of the brand. Karp checks the item label and nutritional information panel, figuring out how the product is actually manufactured. It counts “elements about calories”, understands the science any claim in the packaging and transmits without delay products containing synthetic elements, chemicals, subtle sugars, hormones or inhuman animal remedy.

“We started with fitness and sustainability, before we do finances. We made a lot of financially attractive donations because we didn’t like the way they were made or the list of items,” Karp says.

Karp seeks to incubate not only businesses and ideas, but also entrepreneurs. Target corporations where you can invest and expand the founder and control team, a precedence that has resonated deeply with Coconut Bliss.

“I am very happy to marry HumanCo and magnify the importance of biological and intentional food,” said Kim Gibson Clark, CEO of Coconut Bliss. “Coconut Bliss is committed to genuine ingredients, minimal processing, organic farming practices, fair industry and socially fair operating practices with all our products and suppliers. HumanCo reinforces these commitments by providing shared resources to help our business function on a larger scale.”
