Ava DuVernay and HBO Max will delve into the history of cinema with a documentary series on the popular Twitter account One Perfect Shot.
Streamer WarnerMedia has turned green in a series, also called One Perfect Shot, which will feature filmmakers deconstructing their iconic highest images. DuVernay will narrate the screen and be one of its executive manufacturers, as will Neil Miller, editor of Film School Rejects, owner and administrator of the Twitter account.
Warner Horizon Unscripted Television and DUVernay’s ARRAY Filmworks will produce.

Each episode will feature a conductor who uses generation to delve into his iconic top shots, touring the level and explaining the challenges, classes and triumphs of creating that specific image. Each director will also dissect a shot from some other filmmaker who influenced his work.

One Perfect Shot is the time for HBO Max’s assignment for DuVernay. He also directs and produces DMZ, a pilot starring Rosario Dawson and the comic strip Vertigo of the same name. The prolific director and manufacturer also has an unscored series on NBC, Queen Sugar and Cherish the Day of OWN and is preparing a sci-fi series on Amazon.
DuVernay, Lee Metzger and Miller produced One Perfect Shot. Bruce Robertson and Sarah Bremner of ARRAY and Paul Garnes are the co-producers.
