A floating boat cinema arrives in Miami this summer

Forget the drive-in.

This summer, Miami is its own night of floating movies, where everyone sits on boats. The pop-up party will be organized through Beyond Cinema, an Australian production company that has already programmed them in cities such as Paris, New York and Chicago. Miami will take a position september 9-13.

Like a normal drive-in where visitors watch from their own car, the seats for the floating cinema will be in – what else? – mini-boats. Each vessel, which they hope to have between 12 and 24, can accommodate up to 8 other people. Tickets will be sold by boat and are not consistent with the withson, so you will have to gather the troops to see them. Currently, sitting on a boat with 8 other people is very harmful and does not cling to social distancing regulations. But with fingers crossed, September will be a totally different situation where dating friends is allowed back.

What’s going to touch the floating screens? According to the site, there will be a combination of vintage videos and new versions. No matter what you touch, everyone will get loose popcorn and have the opportunity to buy additional snacks and drinks. Boats and alcohol are a very Miami combination, but you don’t expect the kind of display used to seeing in the restingas. Pre-registration is now open.
