A French theater has turned its construction into the Xenomorph of Alien Romulus, and no bucket of popcorn will be able to save us now

Can we be this close to Alien Romulus invading the 2024 movie lineup? It seems like these last few weeks have gone by so quickly, especially with those terrifying buckets of alien popcorn haunting all of our dreams. Okay, okay, maybe they were just haunting my dreams; however, they are still quite painful. And just when you thought you could breathe a sigh of relief, a French theater remodeled its entire building to turn it into a Xenomorph. Anyone else want some popcorn before global is over?

The CGR Cinemas cinema chain are the mad geniuses who have taken note of this new promotion of director Fede Álvarez’s odyssey in the timeline of the film Alien. Remember how the Alien 3 teaser told us that on Earth everyone would hear us scream? How about looking? This point will be exactly the result:

So here we have a scary math/scientific problem: If this Xenomorph from Alien: Romulus is so massive, how big will the Facehugger that started his life be? Better yet, how big is the host that gave rise to that thing? From this cinema and the photographs in the Alien: Romulus trailers, we can come to the answer that none of those questions matter. What we’re really wondering is: will we be able to sleep at night after watching this?

It’s a perfectly valid question, because star Cailee Spaeny was still scared while shooting the film’s ADR. Since Fede Álvarez’s back catalog of scares includes the 2013 Evil Dead reboot as well as the creation of Don’t Breathe, I’d like this story. An adventure into such a practical nightmare tends to leave a deeper imprint on a person’s mind.

In the end, that’s probably why I’m so interested in marketing this new offering. The making of Alien: Romulus was so driven by an outdated technique that the film’s sales procedure naturally followed the same tactic. Yes, there’s popcorn in fashion, but it’s similar to the toys that sold Aliens to kids in the ’80s who weren’t old enough to watch the movie in the eyes of the MPAA.

Now a new generation can see exciting promotions for a movie their parents probably wouldn’t take them to. . . however, they will probably ask them to do it anyway. This wisdom is terrifying and comforting, and actually makes me need to move on to Alien: Romulus with my head held high.

We’ll all have the opportunity to do that very soon, as the picture gets closer and closer to its cinematic prey from the first screenings next Thursday. So make sure you prepare with a Hulu subscription, because that’s where the first 3 Alien videos are being streamed lately.
