A rating of the 10 movie snacks of all time

With cinemas reopening across Australia (and reopening soon in Victoria), we thought it was time to rate some of cinema’s most productive snacks.

HOYTS and Event Cinemas have recently opened their doors to the public, and while studios may not be releasing a stack of new films, there’s still a lot to see (including some old classics).

No cinematic revelation is complete without a Candy Bar, with anything salty a need to get things started (often followed by anything sweet).

For this list, we have included the characteristics of food and beverages as ‘appetizers’.

And if you’re not satisfied with our choices, well, it’s bad luck, but hopefully there are no arguments about the 1lb.

Now, you’d possibly be wondering what authority I decide from this list. Seven years as a movie worker. That’s what it is!

Here we go:

They both have much the same consistency, so we group them together on this list. Both are just correct options, and Twisties is doing well as there have been some pretty wacky flavors over the years. Burger rings are also massively underestimated in my opinion.

It is very good to think that Pods is a Mars logo of products that was introduced in Australia, and that it has gone from existing to being a basic product of the confectionery market. Mars-flavored pods are a fairly forged selection of film snacks.

This will certainly cause the Peanut vs Crispy debate (because really, who’s going for the normal old M’s in those days?). M-Ms Peanut is pretty fantastic, but since my time at the movies, Crispy was the most popular snack.

The pinnacle of Pods, combining the benefits of biscuit with chocolate and a lovely Snickers inside. A pack of Snickers Pods is guaranteed to any movie that delights (sorry, fans of Twix Pods).

This may just be such a debatable selection on the list, but salt and vinegar fries are among the underrated movie appetizers that never regret putting their hands on it.

The crispy ms and ms high quality are holiday favorites and are also much better for any shoot. Just make sure you have a bag for you and forget about the joke of a “consistent portions with package” sign on the website.

The humble Frozen Coke, also known as Frozone, is a flexible but cinematic supplement. The good looks are in the fact that you can take a sip on the total film while the icy goodness melts along the way.

“Ya jokin” has been louder! “I hear you crying. To be honest, it may have been only in 1st or 2nd place, but the Maltesers probably suffered from their versatility here. The two puts of maximum productivity were reserved for maximum classic movie snacks.

There is no disgrace at the moment that is to come on this list, and it would also have been to launch all the new flavors of Choc Tops in those days. Perfect no matter if it’s a hot or bloodless day at the movies, or if you’re a vintage or more adventurous vanilla aroma with a salted caramel flavor.

While many elements of this list can be reproduced at home for a smart and relaxed booklet insertion service here, there’s nothing to compare to fresh popcorn.

The best amount of salt, sautéed in bulk, in a bath and in your hands. This is the best way to start or finish any movie.

Besides, it’s so versatile. Some like to carry Maltesers, others dip their shock-tops. I’m not a judge. You do it yourself!
