NEW YORK — Harvey Weinstein begged a judge Wednesday to hold his #MeToo retrial as soon as possible, telling him “I don’t know how much longer I can hold on” with cancer, heart issues and harsh conditions at New York City’s Rikers Island jail complex.

The disgraced movie mogul objected after Judge Curtis Farber said the retrial would start April 15, imploring him to swap with another, unrelated trial the judge has in March.
“Everyday I’m at Rikers Island, it’s a mystery to me how I’m still walking,” Weinstein said at a hearing in state court in Manhattan.
“Me because I am justice for myself and to be finished,” he said.
Weinstein, 72, is treated by many fitnessarrays by adding chronic myeloid leukemia, core and diabetes. He complained to Farber that the criminal police gave him the bad pills on Wednesday morning and didn’t look at him at a well-timed time.
“A lot of other people who are suffering on Rikers Island,” he said.
Weinstein reached the court in a wheelchair more one hour after the start time of the planned audience. Sometimes, while heading to Farber, he looked more like the imperative head of the study than he in the past.
“I’m asking and begging you, your honour, to move your trial,” Weinstein said, suggesting that even a week’s head start would be helpful.
Weinstein said he gets unearthed in Haleter in the air and predicted that he would soon be at the return hospital to receive treatment.
He questioned the trial pass over his trial schedule, adding the variety of the jury in some other case that begins Monday. Farber said he had arrived on April 15 after consulting with Weinstein’s prosecutors and lawyers, but would plan to begin the trial a few days earlier, time permitting.

“I am in a serious emergency situation. I beg the court to move your appointment,” Weinstein said, telling the approval trial that he sought to “get out of this hole as temporarily as imaginable. “
Weinstein’s entreaty, a rarity for a criminal defendant, came after Farber issued a key ruling defining the scope of his retrial. The judge upheld a charge based on an allegation from a woman who wasn’t in the original case.
Weinstein had sought the additional allegations to be rejected, arguing through his lawyers that the Manhattan district attorney only grew stronger with a third accuser after New York’s highest court overturned his conviction in 2020 for rape and sexual assault allegation involving two women.
The creation of plans of the new trial was confusing through a congested patio.
Weinstein’s lawyer, Arthur Aidala, is representing conservative strategist Steve Bannon in a border wall fraud trial that begins March 4 before another Manhattan judge.
Meanwhile, Farber has a homicide trial in March.
Before the date of the Bannon trial last week, Aidala had reported that Weinstein’s trial was first in “the interest of humanity”, which caused the aptitude of the chief of the former boss.
“They know that Mr. Weinstein is dying of cancer and is an innocent man right now in the state of New York,” Aidala argued in court last week. He pleaded to prosecutors: “Can I try this dying man’s case first?”
Weinstein is remanding over allegations that he forcibly performed oral sex on a film and television production assistant in 2006 and raised a budding actor in 2013. The additional allegation, filed last September, alleys that he ‘forced oral sex on another woman on a woman at a Manhattan Hotel in 2006.
The Manhattan district prosecutor declared in judicial documents that the woman, that she had not been publicly known, had been presented to prosecutors a few days before Weinstein’s first trial, but not component of this matter.
Prosecutors said they did not pursue the women’s allegations after Weinstein convicted and sentenced him to 23 years in prison, however, they reviewed them and received a new indictment after the State Court of Appeals overturned his conviction last April.
Farber in October to mix the new accusation and the existing allegations into a single trial.
Weinstein’s lawyers argue that prosecutors have damaged him by waiting nearly five years to file the additional charges, suggesting that they had selected not to come with the indictment from his first trial so they can use it later if his conviction was reversed.
Prosecutors called this “absurd” thought, forced Weinstein’s lawyers to have also been outraged if he had been accused about the accusation of the third woman his first judgment or without delay after his seasoning.
Weinstein “would have described this boom and loose battery time,” prosecutors wrote in a legal filing last month.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office said the previously uncharged allegation “required a sensitive investigation” and serious contemplation before seeking an indictment, in part because there are no eyewitnesses to the alleged assault and no scientific or other physical evidence.
Weinstein co -founded the Miramax Film and Television Production Corporations and the Weinstein company and one of the other maximum people in Hollywood, having produced films such as “Pulp Fiction” and “The Crying Game”.
In 2017, he has become the most prominent villain in the #MeToo movement, which erupted when women began going public with accounts that counted on his behavior.
It has long maintained that all sexual is consensual.
By canceling Weinstein’s conviction, the Court of Appeals issued a sentence that the trial issued a ruling on James, Mr. Burke, legal testimonies unfairly opposed to him on the basis of the accusations of other women who were not components of the matter . Burke is no longer in the bank.
Weinstein sentenced to Los Angeles in 2022 for some other rape. His 16-year sentence in criminal court in this case is still capable, but his lawyers appealed in June, arguing that he had not received a fair trial.
Weinstein remained in detention in the Criminal Complex of Islan Rikers in New York, with occasional trips to the hospital to receive medical treatment, while waiting for the new trial.
