Air Bud Movies Are Coming to Disney, Whether John Oliver Likes It or Not

For help, call:

Disney announced Friday that the original Air Bud franchise, consisting of 1997’s Air Bud, 1998’s Air Bud: Golden Receiver, 2000’s Air Bud: World Pup, 2002’s Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch and 2003’s Air Bud: Spikes Back, will be available to stream for the first time on Sunday, Oct. 1.

Air Bud’s debut at Disney coincides perfectly with the return of HBO’s Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, whose host in the past went off on an essential tangent about the regulations and ethical intentions of the original Air Bud, a film described by Disney as the story. of a “shy young student (played through The Rookie: The Federal Reserve’s Kevin Zegers) who meets a wandering golden retriever named Buddy with basketball skills. “

Will Ahsoka be renewed for season 2? I’m manifesting it,” Rosario Dawson.

But, as Oliver points out in his lopsided argument, Buddy is not a stray boy. It turns out to be owned by an alcoholic and failed clown named Norm Snively.

“I don’t intend to argue here. Air Bud likes to position itself as a birthday party of the regulations,” Oliver said, impassive, reminding the audience that “there’s no rule that says a dog can’t play basketball. But as long as we’re all pretending that regulations, or lack thereof, are the most vital thing in the world, how come there are regulations about owning a dog that turns out to be like Air Bud and that the movie is so willing to make you forget?– this is the case when a judgment is passed on the regulations in favor of Josh staying with Buddy.

“Here’s an idea of exercise: Let’s just say that Snively’s disease is rarely alcoholism, it’s. . . diabetes. Now, does this count against him as a dog owner? Here’s some other variable: let’s say instead of being smart at basketball, [Buddy] sucks. Do we care now where Buddy ends up if he’s a bad dog in basketball?Where’s the line here? Does Buddy only deserve a better house if he’s smart at basketball? And if the answer is yes, what does that say about us as a society?

Also, is Buddy that smart at basketball?” Here’s what we know. . . According to the game forums we have: two steals, five assists, two loose shots, and 4 baskets. That’s right. Now, I’m not saying he’s bad, nobody is saying he’s bad, but is this dog an asset to the Fernfield Timberwolves? And honestly, I’m surprised that a coach so focused on teamwork, cooperation, and ball movement would allow such distraction to dominate the team’s narrative.

In fact, you have to see Oliver’s storyline for yourself, so be sure to hit PLAY on the video above, then hit the comments and let us know if you revisit the original Air Bud when it arrives at Disney.
