Aixtron acquires production near Turin

(RTTNews) – Aixtron (AIXA) has acquired production near Turin in Italy’s Piedmont region.

The company said it is expanding its production functions to prepare for long-term growth.

In addition, Aixtron’s new location will identify a link to the strong university and supplier ecosystem in the Piedmont region. Aixtron’s existing sites in Herzogenrath, Germany, and Cambridge, UK, will benefit from a strengthened European presence.

“With our new production site near Turin in Italy’s Piedmont region, we are preparing our company for the expected market dynamics with a further expansion in unit deliveries in the coming years. Within 2 to 3 years, we expect a significant portion of AIXTRON’s volume to be shipped from this location. We were able to take advantage of the rare opportunity to acquire an existing production facility in very attractive advertising terms, which supplies almost all the specialized operations and testing infrastructure for the manufacture of our equipment. Dr. Felix Grawert, CEO and President of AIXTRON SE, said at a press conference on Monday with representatives of the Italian regional government.
