All “Harry Potter” movies come out of HBO Max at the end of August.

We’re less than two months away from the release of HBO Max, and a huge challenge helps keep them popping up: some of the site’s most important titles are already disappearing. A month later, HBO Max revealed that many of its DC Comics films would disappear from the site, prompting enough outrage for the company to return to its track record and said that due to “popular demand,” ten DC films in the past The Scheduled Release would become available until the end of 2020.

Today, HBO Max announced its new titles for August, as well as the films that would also be released next month. A total of 36 films ended their availability on HBO Max in a matter of weeks, adding the 8 Harry Potter films, which have featured prominently on the site’s homepage as a main promotion point since its release.

You still have a month to dock the Harry Potter franchise, as well as all the titles indexed below. (42 Street! Magic Mike! John Wick: Chapter 3!) Some of those movies will inevitably return. However, abandoning major tentpole franchises only a few months after the launch of a service is not exactly a point of promotion right in a busy market. When you sell yourself as the “maximum” of something, you feel like you’re not cutting back on the amount of stuff you have.
