LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – AMC Theatres announced Thursday that more than a hundred of its venues will reopen until August 20, and three hundred theaters will reopen between August 27 and September 3 after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As an added benefit, the movie network said visitors would pay only 15 cents for the film that day.

AMC Colonial 18, 825 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, Lawrenceville, reopening august 20
AMC Dine-in Webb Gin 11, 1210 Scenic Highway, Lawrenceville, will reopen on August 27.
AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18, 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 415, Lawrenceville, scheduled to reopen on August 20.
AMC CLASSIC Snellville 12, 1905 Scenic Hwy N, Snellville, scheduled to open on September 3.
AMC said that after the first hundred reopenings, three hundred theaters will open in the next two weeks with the main premieres of Disney films “The New Mutants” on August 28 and Warner Bros. Records. “Tenet” on September 3.
AMC closed all of its cinemas in March and several reopening plans were abandoned amid a coronavirus outbreak in the United States.

After first noting in June that visitors would not have to wear a mask when cinemas reopened, the film network reversed the policy after an online backlash. All visitors must wear a mask at all times, for eating and drinking.
AMC Theatres stated that the value of tickets at 15 cents (plus sales tax) would not be available until August 20 to celebrate the company’s centenary with “Films in 2020 worth 1920”.
