AMC postpones film reopening

For consumers who share with America’s largest theater operators, going to the videos will mean sitting on the couch for the next few weeks.

AMC cinemas said Wednesday (July 22) that theaters in the United States would remain closed until mid-August, beyond the announced goal last past of openings in July. The corporation closed all its cinemas in March.

“This new schedule reflects the expected dates of long-awaited blockbusters like Warner Bros. Tenet. and Disney’s Mulan, as well as the dates of several other upcoming videos on AMC’s big screens,” AMC said in a pressArray.

Mulan is an animated film about a Chinese warrior. Tenet is a Warner Bros. spy thriller. through Christopher Nolan. The main plot points are kept secret.

He added: “Overseas, about a third of all AMC cinemas in Europe and the Middle East are already open and functioning normally.”

The home page of the company’s online page lists changes similar to COVID-19, adding reduced auditorium capacity, greater cleanliness, mandatory social distance and limited menus. The good news is that consumers will continue to receive large amounts of Coca-Cola and buttered popcorn. The bad news: there are no loose spare parts at this time. The corporation announced in June that any reopening would be accompanied by rules of social estrangement.

AMC says it has 11,041 in 1,004 theaters.

In early June, the company told investors that its capacity as a company was in doubt. “We have never experienced a complete closure of our operations before and, as a result, our ability to be predictive is uncertain,” the company said in its filing with the SEC. Then, in July, the company said it would probably reopen in July.
