Andrea Riseborough’s film “Luxor” acquired through Samuel Goldwyn for the 2020 Arc

EXCLUSIVE: Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired the North American rights to Luxor, the drama Zeina Durra starring Andrea Riseborough, who starred in the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.Karim Saleh, Michael Landes and Shereen Reda also appear in the photo, which will now premiere in late 2020.

Set and filmed in Egypt, the film centers on British humanitarian employee Hana (Riseborough), who returns to the ancient city of Luxor and meets Sultan (Saleh), an archaeologist and former lover.Wandering, obsessed with the familiar place, strives to reconcile the possible options of the afterlife with the uncertainty of the present.

The manufacturers are Mohamed Hefzy, his corporate Film Clinic, Gianluca Chakra of Front Row Filmed Entertainment, Mamdouh Saba of Film Factory and Durra.Paul Webster and Hisham Al Ghanim are executive manufacturers.

The photo, written and directed through Durra in her film of the moment, created as a component of the Sundance World Dramatic Film Competition (see Sundance Studio’s consultation with Durra, Riseborough and Saleh here).

The agreement was negotiated through Miles Fineburg on behalf of Samuel Goldwyn Films and CAA Media Finance on behalf of the filmmakers.
