Michelle Pfeiffer won the coveted honor and starred alongside Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Christopher Walk in the anti-hero film.
“It’s a wonderful role. I’m very flattered that Michelle Pfeiffer is doing it and I’m sure she’ll be wonderful,” Bening told Entertainment Tonight in 1991. “I enjoyed the role. I enjoyed the script, but it was definitely what was most important to me. “
During an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Pfeiffer admitted that her iconic character was born after Bening dropped out.

Pfeiffer said she had “this weird synchronicity with Annette Bening” in an interview with Interview magazine in 2017.

“I thought he wasn’t looking to avoid marriage, but divorce,” she said. “When I met Annette, I had no doubt that it was time to get married. “

Both Bening and Beatty were selective about roles, and Warren took a break from Hollywood to help her family acclimate to a more general life.
“I think it’s a burden to have two parents who know each other, so I completely respect their privacy,” she told People.
“I can keep talking about them because they’re brilliant and funny. But no, I think you have to give them a break and they have their privacy. “
