Apple has directly ordered the series for a police series produced through Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey’s corporate production team, Team Downey, Variety reports.

The exhibition is based on co-producer Michael Lista’s Toronto Life article “The Sting,” which follows a Canadian detective who reopens a decades-deep affair to win a confession and a hero.

The case gets out of hand when the detective launches a complicated operation with playful cops, taxpayer resources and a friendship with the purpose of the investigation.

The Downey, Amanda Burrell and Michael Lista will be the executive producers, while Adam Perlman will write the series and act as executive producer. Downey can also have a supporting role in the series.

Downey’s production company lately produces the HBO drama “Perry Mason” and is running on the Netflix series “Sweet Tooth”.
