We all know how expensive a theme park vacation can be. Tickets to the big Disney or Universal parks cost upwards of $100 per day, and that’s not counting hotels, food, travel, and everything else you need, not to mention the extra prices of whatever you need to do. You have to look for money-saving tactics, and Universal Orlando Resort just came up with a wonderful deal that anyone looking to go on a theme park vacation this summer should seriously consider.
Many other people would likely be waiting at Universal Orlando Resort until next year, when the new theme park opens. From what we know about Epic Universe, this is understandable, as the park is beautiful. But Universal doesn’t need you to wait, and there’s plenty to do to get you to come soon.
Today, Universal Orlando Resort announced a new price ticket offering. When consumers purchase a 3-day price ticket for 2 parks, they get two more days free. That’s five days at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, with the freedom to move between the two parks at your leisure, but only pay for 3 days. An upgrade is also available to come with the Volcano Bay water park.
When I make a stopover at a theme park, my rule of thumb for tickets is to buy tickets equal to one day per park, plus an extra day. As such, 3 days is exactly the time I’d say Universal Orlando Resort visitors deserve. plan to spend. But if the hotel makes the decision to offer you two extra days, it could also take them.
The good thing about this is that it means you don’t have to run to the parks. Don’t tell Universal I said that, however, saving money on tickets can also mean saving cash on Express Pass, as queues are less of a challenge. if you know you have time to stay there. If one day the line for something is too long, you know, come back.
While two extra days at the parks will mean a few more days at a hotel, Universal Orlando offers some of the most productive hotel rates at major theme parks, so it probably won’t break the bank.
This price on offer could not have come at a better time, as this summer is shaping up to be a vital one for Universal Orlando Resort. In June, we’ll see several new attractions pop up that you can’t possibly need to fail.
On June 14, Dreamworks Land, the newly reimagined family space at Universal Studios Florida, will open its doors. It will include Trollscoaster-themed Trollscoasters, a Kung Fu Panda playground, and an encounter with Shrek in the swamp.
That day will also debut two new nighttime exhibitions in the parks. CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular at Universal Studios Florida will combine water effects, projection mapping, and six hundred drones to celebrate the history of cinema. In Slands of Adventure, a new logo for Hogwarts Castle’s projection show, Hogwarts Still, will brighten up the night, with multiple endings imaginable, so you’ll have to use those extra days of tickets to see it more than once. Plus, starting July 3, the Universal Mega Movie Parade will begin, the largest daylight hour parade Universal Orlando has ever seen.
And if summer doesn’t suit you, don’t worry. Tickets using this offer can be purchased until mid-December, so if you want to take advantage of them as part of an experience to enjoy Halloween Horror Nights (tickets for this will charge you extra) or to celebrate the holiday season at Universal Orlando, you can do so.
With Epic Universe slated to open in 2025, it’s a bet that there probably won’t be many competitively priced ticket deals next year, so if Universal Orlando is on your list of theme parks to call soon, and it deserves to be, there could possibly be no better time than now.
