Around Town: Creator of Beatles’ Iconic ‘Abbey Road’ Album Cover to Appear at OC Fair on Saturday

Grammy Award-winning art director and designer John Kosh, who created the canopy art for the Beatles’ “Abbey Road,” as well as the Eagles’ “Hotel California” and ELO’s “Out of the Blue,” will make a special appearance in Orange County on Saturday.

Kosh will be showcasing limited-edition album covers at the OC Fair’s “Art of Music Experience” exhibit, now in its second year in the Huntington Beach Building at the Costa Mesa Fairgrounds, beginning at five p. m.

Kosh began his career in London in the 1960s as artistic director of Apple Records and attended the Beatles’ final rooftop concert in 1969 before moving to Los Angeles, where he would create for Linda Ronstadt’s Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). , Bonnie Raitt. , Jimmy Buffett and many others.

Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley announced the county’s draft climate action plan on Friday, kicking off a 20-day public review era before the plan is presented to the Board of Supervisors in September.

“Orange County’s first Climate Action Plan outlines our strategy to reduce greenhouse fuel emissions and the significant carbon footprint of the County’s operation of 3 landfills, approximately 19,000 employees, more than 800 facilities, and a fleet of 3,000 vehicles. The draft plan outlines moves for a resilient future through waste reduction, improved air quality, available and blank water, and countywide forest canopy expansion. In addition, the plan reinvents our infrastructure and transportation systems to increase our natural resources, beaches, parks, and open spaces for future generations,” Foley said.

Southern California Hibiscus Society and South Coast Plumeria Society to Put on Colorful Show at Sherman Library

Experts from both plant societies will be available over the weekend to give recommendations and information on percentages, as well as lectures and demonstrations.
