Plans have been submitted for the transformation of a vacant site at Heart of Worcestershire College to allow for the creation of an assisted living progression. Macc Group is applying for permission to make plans to redevelop the Osprey House site on Albert Street, Redditch. Osprey House, which spans 29,941 square feet, would be preserved and converted into 33 serviced apartments. At the same time, a nursing facility with 83 beds would be built. The house would act as an extension of the existing infrastructure to the north. The proposed retirement home includes a living/dining/cinema room, a café/bistro, and a beauty and nail salon. A complaint lodged with Bromsgrove District Council on behalf of the applicant stated: “The new progression has many advantages and is sensitive to the existing site in terms of design, use and appearance. “Provide the visitor with a purpose-built facility that meets operational needs and complies with local planning policies.
