The old animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender (ATLA) is airing on Netflix now. The fantasy screen, which first aired on Nickelodeon between 2005 and 2008, has discovered a new legion of enthusiasts after reaching the U.S. streaming platform. The exhibition turned out to be a great fortune and paintings are being made in a live adaptation. But now those plans appeared to have been blocked after ATLA creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko announced that they were no longer involved, according to several reports.
DiMartino shared an open letter confirming that he and Konietzko had distanced the property in June.
He described the resolution as a “difficult resolution” for the couple after he first signed it in 2018.
They performed as showrunners and manufacturers in the next series.
DiMartino explained that when the ATLA live-action series was first announced, Netflix “declared that it pledged to honor [sic] our vision of this story and rely on the creation of the series.”

But from the progression process, DiMartino said that “things didn’t go as we expected.”
He explained in the letter: “Look, things happen. Productions are difficult. Unforeseen occasions occur. Plans have to change. And when those things have happened at other times in my career, I seek to be like an Air Nomad and adapt.
“I do my job to keep up with the current, no matter how hindrance is in my path.
“But even an Air Nomad knows when it’s time to reduce its losses and move on.”
DiMartino’s letter went on to tell how he can simply “control the artistic direction of the series” but had strength over his reaction to the situation.
The author of ATLA added: “So I decided to leave the project. It was the most complicated professional resolution I’ve ever had to make, and in fact not the one I took lightly, but it was obligatory for my happiness and artistic integrity.
“And who knows? The Avatar adaptation of Netflix has the possibility to be good.
“This may turn out to be an exhibition that many of you end up enjoying.

“But what I can be sure of is that any edition that ends up on the screen, is probably not what Bryan and I had planned or planned to do.”
Although the duo moved away from the project, DiMartino said it meant the end of their participation in the ATLA universe.
He concluded by calling his “small” exit in relation to today’s society.
DiMartino shared a quote from one of Iroh’s characters, saying, “Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel.
“You can’t see the Gentile at the end of the tunnel, but if you keep moving, you’ll get to a bigger place.”
“Can we keep moving and get to a better place?”
He ended up thanking the enthusiasts for their continuation of ATLA.
Although DiMartino and Konietzko are no longer involved, it turns out that the assignment will continue to advance.
Netflix launched a spokesman saying, “We have absolute respect and admiration for Michael and Bryan and the story they created in the animated series Avatar.
“Although they chose to leave the action project, we are confident in the artistic team and their adaptation.”
