As we raise the curtain on the end of 2024, the newest Bollywood movie of the year is packed with action, romance, excitement and everything you want for a full-fledged entertainment movie. Hopefully, this film will give the box numbers that Bollywood desperately wants it. It is a remake of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film.
Baby John starts with John D’Silva (Varun Dhawan), the owner of a bakery and a single dad to Khushi (Zara Zyanna) who drops her daughter to school every day. Khushi is late to school every single day. Tara (Wamiqa Gabbi) is her teacher, but both Tara and John has another identity and a backstory and that is the central point of the story.
But the real actor who has nailed the role of a villain is Jackie Shroff whom we cannot fail to ignore. He portrays the role of a repulsive looking minister who uses his power for his misdeeds. He kidnaps young girls on their way to school and uses them for flesh trade. He has all the qualities of a bad man with not even a tiniest bit of conscience and his son is a pedophile who rapes and then burns them alive.
Bathrough John is undoubtedly attractive, however, what the film is missing is a sharp narration. All functionality is decent. But if you really like the smell of blood and the laughter of weapons, this movie is really for you. The film is full of immense mass moments. Infant and entertaining, however, it lacks fine narration, which is the main requirement of an immersive film. And it is not a circle of relative films through any medium and may seem an incomprehensible disaster.
Varun Dhwan has done a smart job as an action hero, the star display is undoubtedly Jackie Shroff, but Wamiqa Gabbi is incredibly underutilized in the film. The biggest wonder is, in fact, Salman Khan’s cameo with his branded booty. Making a Masala film is also an art and when you have a difficult Pushpa 2 festival that still regulates the big screens. The largest is down to two hours and 40 minutes.
Bathrough John is presented through Jio Studios, A For Apple, Cine1 Studios is released in theaters near you.
