Bachelorette enthusiasts are disappointed by the elimination of a contestant after one episode, and I’m here with them.

Spoiler alert! This story is a spoiler for the season 21 premiere of The Bachelorette, which aired on July 8. You can stream episodes with a Hulu subscription if you want to catch up!

In fact, it’s not unusual for Bachelor Nation to engage with some of the contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, only to feel heartbroken when, after all, they’re sent home. However, this anxiety doesn’t regularly show up until the end of the season, when we’ve gotten to know everyone a little better. This is not the case with Jenn Tran’s season, because after the premiere, enthusiasts are already angry about one of Jenn’s eliminations, and I completely agree that we suffered an injustice.

Entering Jenn Tran’s historic season of The Bachelorette, fans were excited to meet many of the 25 men who were set to be her future spouse, but one man in particular caught people’s attention. Brett Harris, a 28-year-old from Pennsylvania, has become an early fan favorite, as enthusiasts saw his increased length as a sign that ABC’s truth franchise might be branching out when it comes to framing diversity. There have even been calls for Brett to become the next Bachelor before the season even begins. He created our sadness when, at the end of a long night, Jenn sent him home. As one fan tweeted:

All Bachelor Nation members jointly mourn the loss of THIS MAN ? July #bachelorette #TheBachelorette #bschelorABC pic. twitter. com/iaiYhXVZZz9, 2024

I absolutely understand the frustration that the other members of Bachelor Nation feel, as I found it very refreshing to see them with another way participate in the program. At a time when The Bachelor’s executive producers acknowledge the franchise’s “unforgivable” lack of racial discrimination. In the face of diversity, Brett Harris’ presence seemed like a promising look into the future. However, all of this went out the window, prompting one fan to write on X (Twitter):

Well, we had frame diversity for 0. 2 seconds.

There were high hopes for Brett Harris ahead of the season opener and he didn’t disappoint. Bachelor Nation seemed to agree that it was captivating and fun, and the boy parted ways for God’s sake. Why didn’t this guy stay? To say that enthusiasts were disappointed would be an understatement, as Guyy took to Twitter with the following sentiments:

Even in defeat, Brett Harris maintained elegance by wishing Jenn Tran luck on her journey. Fans enjoyed his farewell message, one of which said:

It’s Brett saying “pick a smart one” with a smile and a hug as he leaves ? #TheBachelorette #Bachelorette pic. twitter. com/4A5YPFMR5U July 9, 2024

More often than not, contestants eliminated on the first night return to the relative obscurity of their lives in general, but one of the men who managed to combat those obstacles: Grocery Store Joe. After being sent home the first night via Becca Kufrin. Joe Amabile starred on two seasons of Bachelor in Paradise and is now one of the Bachelor franchise’s breakout alums. Could a destiny await Brett Harris?

Without the promise of a Bachelor in Paradise return, there’s arguably only one path to Brett Harris’ return to the franchise, and it’s one that several enthusiasts have already called for:

Time will tell if and when we’ll see Brett Harris again (outside of “Men Tell All,” of course), but for now, it sucks that someone we couldn’t wait to meet is rarely very interested in Jenn Tran. . travel after all. The Bachelorette airs at 8 p. m. And Mondays on ABC, and be sure to check out our 2024 TV schedule to see what other premieres are coming up.
