Eddie Murphy returns to the fray in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, one of Netflix’s new releases this week.
Murphy, of course, played the role of Axel Foley in three Beverly Hills Cop films, in 1984, 1987 and 1994.
Now, three decades after his last stint as an intrepid detective for the Detroit Police Department, Murphy is back in Beverly Hills, California, this time for his former adult daughter, Jane (Taylour Paige), to solve a case of crime and corruption.
Murphy isn’t alone in his return to the land of the Beverly Hills Cops. Original trilogy stars Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot are also on board, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin are new to the cast. Beverly Hills Police: Axel F is directed by Mark Molloy.

Maguire, Dafoe, Molina, and Church, of course, reprised their roles for the Marvel Spider-Man No Way Home Cinematic Universe show in 2021.
The Spider-Man trilogy premieres on Netflix on Monday, July 1.
Director Robert Zemeckis directs the Back to the Future film trilogy, a trio of time-travel adventures starring Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, who travels back in time in a DeLorean time device created by Dr. Emmet “Doc” Brown. (Christophe Lloyd).
McFly’s adventures take him back to 1955 in 1985’s Back to the Future in 2015, and in 1955, in 1989’s Back to the Future II, and back to the Wild West in 1885’s Back to the Future III.
The Back to the Future trilogy premieres on Netflix on Monday, July 1.
Setting the bar for the return of Netflix’s hit original series Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 on July 18, the original edition of The Karate Kid begins streaming on Netflix.
The film dates back to the 1980s to tell the story of young Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), who learns karate from his man, Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki ‘Pat’ Morita), to protect himself from the bully Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). .
The circumstances, however, lead to a feud between Daniel and Miyagi and their rivals Johnny and John Kreese (Martin Kove), who trains his students in a dirty, “ruthless” style of karate at the Cobra Kai dojo.
The Karate Kid debuts on Netflix on Monday, July 1.
