The British Film Institute has announced this year’s full BFI London Film Festival program, which includes 58 films from around the world, the European premiere of Mangrove, director Steve McQueen, and director Francis Lee’s latest film, Ammonite.
Here is the full list of films for the 2020 edition, with projection presented practically with an introduction or questions/answers from filmmakers and programmers:
“It’s been an era of uncertainty and replacement within the industry,” said Tricia Tuttle, director of the BFI London Film Festival. “When we embark on a radical new task for our 2020 edition, we enter uncharted territory. so encouraged by the adventure of filmmakers and rights holders, the unwaveringness of our collaborators and the spirit of unity and experimentation. And I feel like we’ve accelerated many of our long-term allocations in a few months, that is, our preference to supply audiences across the UK with greater access to LFF.
“We all need to be back in theaters, to watch videos on the big screen, together, immersed,” Tuttle continues. “But we must also continue to see new cinematic narratives from all over the world, listening to other voices and perspectives. “; this edition of LFF meets any of those goals. I couldn’t be prouder to paint with so many professionals, artists and artistic corporations to make those new films, series, meetings and cutting-edge XR systems for the public. »
