“I don’t know where this started about I’m getting rid of ‘Real Time.’ I — they’re going to have to drag me off of that show,” he said.

Maher would earn $10 million a year for his HBO showcase, which he has been hosting since 2003.
During an episode of Maher’s “Club Random” podcast last December, the e-book Comedian and outspoken critic of Trump told guest Jane Fonda that he “might quit” because he didn’t need to make curtains on any other terms with President-elect Trump at the White House.
“I can prevent because I don’t need to do another one. I did all the Trump stuff before anyone else. I called him a criminal before anyone else. He is not going to admit elections.
During Friday night’s episode of CNN’s “The Lead,” Tapper asked Maher about the quote, assuming he meant quitting his show. The anchor said, “But there’s talk promulgated by you about maybe you quitting the HBO show–”
“No,” the HBO host bans. Tapper followed, adding, “Well, you told Jane Fonda, about it. What, tell us what, what’s next?”
Maher admitted that he made plans to quit stand-up because he got tired of touring and that he has many other things.
“OK. I am stopping doing stand-up, just because I’m tired of touring, just because I’ve been doing it for 40 years. I love it,” he said.

After comparing education for the stand-up comedy with the education of a boxer, he said: “I have been in education for 40 years. I want a break. And I’m tired of the trip. I am tired of dragging my out of bed Saturday morning to go through somewhere after running so much ‘in real time’ all week. “
Then he clarified what his exhibition told Fonda, which he simply does not need to throw Trump again.
“What I said did not need to do any other Trump term. Not only because I don’t think it’s an intelligent moment for the United States. Maybe I still don’t hate anything, still because I have already done all the jokes in Donald Trump.

Maher added: “I don’t know what else to say about the guy. But, of course, it will provide us with many new documents. And I will enter that, but I hope that this is the United States on the United States, I expect new characters. “
