Apple, Formula One and Warner Bros. have announced that their next film starring Brad Pitt and co-produced by Lewis Hamilton will be “F1”.
It will be released on June 25, 2025 and the first preview will arrive this Sunday, July 7.
F1 has been in production for more than a year, with Top Gun director Maverick Joe Kosinski and manufacturer Jerry Bruckheimer working together on the project.

Hamilton was deeply involved in all facets of the film, including writing the screenplay, with the goal of making it the most original racing film ever made.
The F1 paddock has hosted F1 production, with a full garage for the fictional APXGP from last year’s British Grand Prix, with filming at various events.
This includes scenes filmed in the paddock and on the grid from the live Grand Prix race weekend, featuring the same real-life drivers and sports teams.
While filming was delayed due to last year’s cast and editors strike in the U. S. , filming was delayed. The U. S. Securities and Exchange Commission allowed more scenes and filming to take place at times during the 2024 season, as well as at the Rolex 24 sports car race at Daytona in January.

Pitt and Damson Idris are on hand for this weekend’s British Grand Prix, where APXGP has, for the first time, a full docking unit alongside Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes in the F1 paddock.
Pitt will play Sonny Hayes, a veteran running back who teams up with Joshua Pearce, who will be played by British actor Idris. Javier Bardem will play the role of the APXGP team leader and was present at several races last year filming scenes.
Pitt and Idris drove race cars as part of the filming, and a custom-built vehicle was created on a Formula 2 chassis for the APXGP team.

“I’m very excited,” Idris told The Athletic at a pre-British Grand Prix event.
“We were filming last year and the actors’ strike put an end to filming. But I would say that the strike made the film even better, the script improved.
“We were able to get even bigger images and I think after all, when other people see this film, they’re going to be really proud of what we’ve done. “

Kosinski and Bruckheimer used much of the same generation of cameras used in Top Gun: Maverick, with a diversity of camera positions on the cars. They will also use original F1 transmission angles as well as CGI to integrate the APXGP cars into the race footage of the 2023 season. .
In May, reports suggested that F1’s budget had surpassed $300 million, making it one of the most expensive films ever made. Hamilton denied this, calling the reports “inaccurate” and “incorrect. “
F1 filming is expected to continue at other grands prix of the 2024 season, ahead of its launch next year.
