A leading supplier of the European automotive market has invested in its first Bruderer to increase the production of existing and long-term models.
Xandor Automotive Canning Brett, which manufactures exterior components, interiors and under the hood, installed a high-speed btSA 40 press and a refurbished BBV 202-120 charger refurbished 3 months ago and is already achieving a 400% increase in volumes on some lines.
The company uses control generation and patented cat tool steering generation to manufacture up to 200,000 clips, fasteners and washers every day, with the flexibility of platform length and the ability to 1200 shots consisting of minutes to verify your investment in the coming years.
“The automotive industry is about power and that means looking to make the most of its production processes,” said Gethin Williams, head of production at Xandor Automotive Canning Brett’s specialty steel emergency site in Swansea.
“We had known a number of portions that could be manufactured more temporarily and in higher volumes, maintaining the same reproducible quality point. This led us to find a new machine and that’s where Bruderer UK entered the equation, visiting us and identifying a solution that would work.
He continued: “They arranged for us to send a tool to their Luton and use it on the device we were interested in; the effects were very impressive.”
Bruderer’s 40-ton BSTA press can run up to 1200 consistent strokes in minutes and offers a bed surface of 690 mm x 550 mm, ideal for the use of larger equipment that does not require additional tonnage.
The press has also been designed to offer a diversity of adjustable strokes (from thirteen to 57 mm), with a longer stroke suitable for small electrical parts and a shorter stroke for parts of more complex shapes.
Xandor Automotive Canning Brett, willing to optimize functionality and reliability, has also invested in a tonnage package and tool coverage that has increased tool life.
Gethin added: “The first few months were impressive, with BSTA being by far the acting device we have at our Swansea plant, which employs 46 people.
“These production increases have given us the confidence to actively launch tenders for new projects in new markets. I’m pretty sure it’s probably not the last high-speed press we bought at Bruderer, especially if it continues to quadruple daily production into bound parts.”
“It all started with our preference to spend time with a potential customer, take a look at all their production operations, and know where we believe our generation can bring genuine added value. The answer to this instance is a refurbished BSTA 40, which gives the world -speed, precision and class control. »
“Our generation has provided higher quality portions with far fewer stains, faster tool adjustments for the implementation of one-minute matrix exchange (SMED) and has freed up capacity by acting 3 traditional press paints.”
