It’s hard to believe BTS without Suga. After all, he is one of the band’s leading rappers and songwriters. In addition to his paintings with BTS, Suga also has a successful solo career.
However, about ten years ago, when the composition of BTS began to take shape slowly, Suga was barely part of the group. In fact, as Suga has shared a few times, it has been “brought” to be a component of BTS. Check out Suga’s first tale below.
When Suga was a teenager, he became interested in rap music. He attributed this to South Korean rap teams Stony Skunk and Epik High.
In an interview with Grazia Korea in 2018, Suga also revealed that she had begun learning to produce at the age of 13. This allowed him to start writing his own songs. Later, he was also assigned a part-time assignment in a recording studio, which did not pay him, but he could spend time making music.

When Suga signed with Big Hit Entertainment in 2010, its purpose was only to be a music manufacturer for the company. Eventually, Big Hit CEO Bang Si-Hyuk sought to create a hip-hop band and recruited Suga as rapper.
However, the band later became a K-pop idol organization with songs and dances. Suga, who had not trained much in dance, then joked that he had been “taken” to an idol.
As Koreaboo said in BTS Rookie King in 2013, Suga called Bang Si-Hyuk and said, “He told me he would be in a band like [the 90s hip-hop band] 1TYM. He said he wouldn’t have to dance, just dance a little. He said all I had to do was focus on rap. BTS has some of the most challenging choreographies performed in musical performances. In fact, I was looking to be 1TYM!
He finished his speech by saying that Bang Si-Hyuk “pushed me to sign the contract.”
In addition, Koreaboo noted that Suga told this story in a letter to the Japanese FAN club of BTS at the time. He said if he had made his debut in a hip-hop band, he would have “improved through rap.” However, Suga thought “the organization would have failed.”

BTS MEMBERS also had compelling stories about how they had been discovered.
RM began as an underground rapper and his skill inspired rapper Sleepy from hip-hop duo Untouchable. Sleepy eventually took RM to Big Hit, and RM became the first BTS member to enroll in the agency.
J-Hope and Jimin teamed up because of their dancing skills. J-Hope had originally auditioned for JYP Entertainment, and Jimin was the most productive dance student at Busan High School of Arts. J-Hope almost broke away from the BTS lineup when the band was about to do their deyet, but RM convinced Big Hit that the band needed it.
Jungkook, on the other hand, was incredibly in touch before signing with Big Hit. He auditioned for a demonstration of Korean skill and his skills have seduced several entertainment companies. He ended up receiving donations to enroll in seven of them, however, he chose Big Hit because he was inspired by RM.
Meanwhile, V only auditioned for Big Hit because he was accompanying a friend who auditioned for the company. A Big Hit user suggested V audition, and he did, being the only user in his hometown who participated in this tour.
Jin saw him on the street through a Big Hit representative. He is said to have got off a bus when a casting director chased him and asked him to audition for the company.
