Celebrate the breath of summer with an epic diving film

August is here and that’s all we can do not to think about the reopening of the school and all the headaches that it entails. But summer is over! With the sun burning and the pool at this perfectly warm temperature, this is not the time to stay indoors and lament the strangest summer pass of all time.

No, now is the time to take a super fluffy pool float, put a screen on your terrace and watch a diving movie so amazing it’s about cinemas.

There is no movie night without a projector, and LG’s 4K HU70LAB ultra high definition projector is one of the best. With a symbol so beautiful that you swear you’re watching a classic TV, the projector redefines precisely what you can do with a projector. Its maximum of 1500 lumens means you don’t want it to be absolutely dark to enjoy it. Even in the early hours of the night, I can turn on the LG and start looking. Suitable for expired sunsets. The 140-inch symbol meant I was limited only by the length of my actual screen and the physical limitations of my platform.

Setting the symbol is an undeniable procedure and can be manually refreshingly. Using the lever on the most sensitive part of the camera, you can temporarily concentrate the symbol. There are also virtual changes available, however, I discovered that the included “magic remote control” is a bit tedious. The cursor-based webOS interface requires a general review of muscle reminiscence when you’re used to something like Android TV.

From an operational point of view, the HU70LAB looks more like a TV connected to a projector than an occasional device for watching movies. It has full streaming functions and can also be connected to a DTV tuner or streamed from your phone (via Miracast) or a USB stick. There are almost too many options. If you don’t use them all, like live TV for example, you’ll probably turn on the projector to be received through a wall of parasites. A minor but vital warning, since it runs on webOS, HBO Max can’t be downloaded (and with HBO Go, even though everything has the axe, it doesn’t mean HBO at all).

The HU70LAB has no battery, so you want to take out a portable generator like the Yeti Goal Zero to run it if you’re not near a power outlet (which is fine, you want to heat it up. Anyway for hurricane season, right?). Built-in 3W stereo speakers do a decent job, but for genuine film quality, you want to use the projector’s Bluetooth connectivity to connect a smart speaker (more on this in a moment).

The HU70LAB all LG’s cinematic inventions in a portable projector and the value reflects it. At $1799, it would possibly be more comfortable to climb it to the roof of a compromised theater than to leave it through the pool where a boisterous guest can also simply knock it down (or send it to the pool).

However, the quality of the symbol is unbeatable. If you’re looking for the most productive projection symbol possible, visit LG’s online page for more information.

With a 720p 150′ image, 10W sound and a 4-hour battery, the Nebula Mars II smart projector is the best if you’re looking for something portable and versatile.

March II has a lot to offer. With an integrated lens shutter and tripod mount, it’s made to carry and install anywhere. It runs Android 7.1, so it’s compatible with streaming apps like Prime Video, YouTube and Netflix.

The Mars II has an autofocus function that locks with the best clarity as soon as you point it at any surface. This works incredibly better than projectors that charge 3 times more.

The sound is amazing, however, the Mars II works with Bluetooth if you connect your own speaker. There is also an HDMI port, so you can connect any device you want.

For $499 (before the ever-present Amazon coupons), the Mars II Nebula is a reaction to ‘if a projector has to exceed $1,000 to be good’. Of course, you may have to wait for it to get dark before you can fully enjoy Mars II in its full symbol width, but for $1000 less than the LG, this commitment doesn’t seem so bad.

The Mars Capsule II is not the brightest projector on this list. It also does not provide the largest image. What it offers is a pleasure of cellular entertainment that absolutely denies its reduced length and excessive portability.

At first glance, the Capsule II looks more like a small traffic camera or a portable speaker. However, this soda can frame includes a strangely avid projector, an 8W to 270 degree environment, a refreshing and fashionable Android TV 9.0 interface and a smart tripod mounting base. Connect it to your phone or cell access point and enjoy all a cinematic delight that you can throw in your beach bag.

Unfortunately, the small length limits its run time, but as long as it does not exceed two and a half hours, it is gold. If you are near a plug, it can extend life even further, as Capsule II may be temporarily charged while in operation.

It has the same one-second autofocus as the Mars II and works as well here as it does with its older brother. Honestly, if each and every manufacturer could adopt Anker’s autofocus technology, the overall industry would be better for it.

You can buy a Capsule II for $579 on its website.

While you can get away with your projector’s built-in speakers, you need to invest in anything with a little more strength to capture that cinematic experience. Sonos Move is precisely the type of portable speaker you need.

The most productive portable speaker features several amplifiers and tweeters for full sound in a compact case, with built-in care that can face sandy beaches, heavy rains and splashes in the pool, and after falling or overturning.

Sonos Move does all this, plus add voice assistants and AirPlay 2 integration. And WiFi connectivity. And Bluetooth.

Basically, Sonos Move is the best example of generation. He does what he needs, without having to commit to anything else. Connect the Move to your Bluetooth-enabled projector and place it by the pool. Everyone on all sides of the speaker will get advantages from a body-bodied sound that doesn’t skimp on the bass and doesn’t cut for the softer spoken parts.

With an 11-hour battery, it will last much longer than your projector and can be recharged without problems by depositing it in your thin charging dock. And if 11 hours is enough while you’re on the road (lucky), you can do it with a USB-C charger.

Sonos Move is the difference between your “fun” and “completely captivating” diving film. After watching some videos with the speaker, I don’t need to use it anymore.

Lately, inventory has been depleted on the Sonos website, but you can still sell them for their retail value of $399 on Amazon and best buy.

What is a diving movie without a smart float? If you’re looking to take it to the next level, to really enjoy anything you’re on inflatable unicorn rafts (which certainly sounds pretty impressive), you’ll want to see Oliver James’ mats.

These are not popular pool floats. Made of Sunbrella material, they are resistant to perforation, discoloration and comfortable to the touch. Which is contradictory: I’ve had a Sunbrella umbrella for years and I never sought to turn it into a chair. Oliver James founder Oliver Micklewright replied:

“Our pool floats are made of 100 percent tinted acrylic in the mass of Sunbrella and Agora. Our cloths are not only soft to the touch and dry temporarily, but their fibers are also saturated to the core with highly stable UV-safe pigments, making them resistant, discoloration and the degrading effects of sunlight. In order to equip the leader in luxury design pool floats, we have selected the leading functionality fabric for upholstery applications.

This attention to curtain design shows this. Oliver James mats are comfortable and spacious in a way that classic pool floats can’t even start playing, with an increased backrest so you can watch a movie smoothly. Think of them less as “lights” than “floating living room chairs.” Each smooth even comes with its own rechargeable pump and a garage bag to buy in low season.

Here we need to remember sustainability and long-term use. And at $875 for one of the popular mats (you can also create your own “custom” edition from a wider variety of fabrics), your Oliver James is expected to last much longer than a single pool season (which is pretty much everything I’ve ever done) of classic inflatable structures). It’s definitely a luxury item, but enjoy it for many years to come. More information can be found on Oliver James’ website.

But what if you don’t need to float? Then you need an external sectional set.

I’ve already enjoyed Outer’s sectional furniture, but after talking to its founder Jiake Liu and designer Terry Lin, my appreciation for what they do with the logo is even deeper.

A quick reminder: Outer furniture from Outer is strangely innovative, in an area where innovation is not the norm. In fact, Terry and Jiake have talked for a long time about how “big brand” stores simply repeat the furniture found in their original factories each season to design something new.

The outer cushions are made of reminiscent foam, like your last mattress. Underneath the stain-resistant awning is a water-resistant barrier, which means you can go from the pool to the couch without having to worry about destroying your cushions. There is even an integrated “Outershell” canopy. When you have finished passing out, simply fold the cushions and place the canopy on them. Helps keep your cushion surfaces blank and dry.

The wicker is made of recycled plastic and lasts for years without breaking down (it is also recyclable). The feet are made of stainless metal and do not rust. Important when you leave it outdoors and it will get wet.

All of this is part of the company’s project to create outdoor furniture that is not “disposable”. I have a set of popular plastic wicker furniture on my terrace that I bought five years ago. It was protected, but still exposed to Florida’s moisture and heat. Even if I didn’t leave it exposed to the weather, it still disintegrates before my eyes.

This “programmed obsolescence” is a component of the outdoor furniture industry and this is what Jiake and Terry face. They created their own cushion fabric after they were not happy with what was on the market. They rejected the use of chemicals such as Teflon in their production because they sought outer to be guilty and as environmentally friendly as possible. They were looking for anything other people would look to sit on (hence the mattress-like reminiscent foam). They also made sure the cushions were wine repellent, a sensitive attention.

Jiake and Terry didn’t just need to create outdoor furniture. They were looking to create furniture. Pieces that attract people, that obsess them with small handmade imperfections. Furniture that could be used at any time instead of storing them in the garage or under plastic (like many of our grandparents’ outdoor sets). The exterior is a piece of furniture that resists the passage of the seasons and remains recyclable when it nevertheless reaches the end of its life.

With a five-year wicker and cushion warranty and a 10-year frame warranty, have your outdoor set for a long time. And with configurations ranging from 8-piece modular sections to undeniable chairs, you can place a suitable assembly, regardless of the length of your platform (or your budget).
