In the recently completed season of The Boys, we saw the new Supe Sister Sage lobotomize to get to the same point as The Deep. Oh, how things have changed for Chace Crawford over the past decade and a half. In 2007, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester competed for her character in Gossip Girl. Obviously, that’s far from the only difference between the hyper-violent superhero series and the CW’s teen drama, however, Crawford believes there’s room for overlap. In fact, he said that two of his former co-stars would be wonderful additions to the cast of The Boys.
Speaking to people at Comic-Con, Chace Crawford, who plays The Deep in The Boys (available to stream with an Amazon Prime subscription), revealed which of the St. John’s alumni is the most important part of the S. John was able to do it. Jude through Nate Archibald would like to enroll me in the cast of The Boys Season 5, and I hope showrunner Eric Kripke takes notes. Crawford said:
It would have to be Ed or Penn, you know what I mean?It would have to be one of them. [Ed Westwick] would have direct compatibility with that world.
As someone who was absolutely drawn to the outrageous Gossip Girl school drama back in the day, I couldn’t agree more that Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley would be able to hold their own in the universe of Eric Kripke’s maniacal Supes and vigilantes that constituted our minds to stop. to them.
Ed Westwick’s Chuck Bass has already gone three-quarters of the way to evil, especially in the early days, when his first encounter with Taylor Momsen’s Jenny Humphrey is reminiscent of Erin Moriarty’s first encounter with Erin Moriarty’s Starlight, if you know what I mean. Chace Crawford even had an idea of what kind of Supe Westwick might play and said:
It would be fun. . . it might just be Batman. Batman, or a play about Batman, would be fun. Do you know what I mean? Like a dark Batman.
The Boys’ fourth season has already given us a pretty disturbing parody of Batman, Tek Knight and his BDSM Batcave, but I agree that Ed Westwick would be more productive as a dark and brooding counterpart to the flashy Homelander or season four’s rookie season, Firecracker. In fact, Chuck Bass and Firecracker would make quite a dynamic duo.
The Deep actor hasn’t given any express opinion on who Penn Badgley might play, however, after watching him as Dan Humphrey for six seasons, we found out just how manipulative he can be when he casts the role. revealed in the series finale as “Lonely Boy”. Gossip Girl from the beginning. Come to think of it, perhaps “Lonely Boy” wouldn’t be Supe’s worst name. I’m sure Eric Kripke can come up with a super miserable story for this. And we know that Badgley is able to bet on the villain, thanks to his role as serial killer Joe Goldberg in Netflix’s You.
Although it’s probably a long shot, he’d be ready for that Gossip Girl reunion when The Boys returns for its final season, and Eric Kripke himself has said he’s not exactly shy about finding roles for people. (Did that go wrong. . . or not?)
You can relive Chace Crawford’s days as Nate on Gossip Girl by streaming the series with a Max subscription, or catch up on The Boys on Amazon Prime Video, one of the most productive streaming services.
