CISA warns of cyber actor posing as small administration

The Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Security Agency is investigating a cybercriminal who used phishing emails posing as Messages from the Small Business Administration.

The emails involve a fake link claiming to be for SBA COVID-19 loan relief, CISA said Wednesday. The malicious actor attempts to use borrowed credentials through this fraud approach.

These emails are titled “SBA Request: Review and Procedure” and come from a sender as “[email protected]”. The malicious link leads to a “leanproconsulting.com” website.

Analysts said the emails were sent to state and federal government entities.

CISA advises organizations to practice a number of practices, such as placing caution posters on all external emails, suspicious attachments, and restricting software installation permissions.

The Transit Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), a NASA spacecraft designed to identify new planets, scanned 75% of the visual area and detected 66 new planets outside the solar system. This step marks the final touch of the large TESS project and allows the satellite to conduct further studies of the southern region as a component of a long project.
