No one needs systems to return more than the other artistic people who produce them, and last week, an organization took steps to inspire Governor Steve Sisolak to take a closer look at what can be done. Stabile Productions, the corporation of the women’s magazine empire “X Burlesque” and co-producers of the Piff the Magic Dragon exhibition in Flamingo and John Capulo’s “Mad Cap Comedy” in Harrah’s, have published a petition in change.org titled “The Show Must Follow.” With approximately 2,800 signatures on Wednesday, the petition respectfully calls for exhibits to get “the same attention as casinos, restaurants, grocery stores, churches, airlines, etc.” in the form of guidelines for the reopening of companies. All live exhibitions with a hearing remain closed by state mandate, with live music and other exhibits allowed in bars, restaurants and lounges. Neither the governor nor the Nevada Games Control Board has issued any official amendments related to the reopening of showrooms and casino theaters, although the governor’s newly adjusted, phaseless technique for reopening and regulating other industries appears to be a step in the right direction.
A normal entertainment occasion that replaced the gears with a style of live streaming had a very special guest for this week’s show. Monday Dark returned to action on Space on Monday, broadcasting loose on mondaysdark.com as he boosted the budget for local charity Michael’s Angel Paws with a skilled array of local artists performing music through Strip star Lionel Richie. Presenter Mark Shunock joined his evening communication table through no less than Bill Medley for much of the show, and the legendary singer was thrilled with the skill that took him to the level in Space all night. Medley’s wife in the current Righteous Brothers, Bucky Heard, diversified by making a song “Unchained Melody”, a hit for the act in 1965 when it was sung by Bobthrough Hatfield, who died in 2003. Heard joined Medley in 2016 and the new duo has been performing for years at Harrah’s Las Vegas. Mondays Dark’s next live stream is scheduled for August 24 at 8 p.m. to gain advantages from local sports and non-profit autism Spectrum on Ice with Eagles music.
Different perspectives on the dinner club continue to emerge from the pandemic and the last comes from the Tao group. Dolce is scheduled to make her debut in the restaurant and hospitality Lavo of the nightlife and hospitality company at the Palazzo on August 16 at 9:30 p.m., with exhibits and a DJ that will complete signature Italian cuisine on Sunday night. “As the night progresses, interactive desserts and a jug-bottle service emerge to prolong the evening,” dolce says. Combine those new offerings with the vast patio on the la strip side and it sounds like a recipe for success.
Outside the Strip, Vegas Room has become another dinner club-style experience, combining chef David James Robinson’s cuisine with musical artists every weekend. Coming soon, the wonderful Janien Valentine, making a song with Dan Ellis on piano, on August 14 and 15, followed up with a Sunday brunch exhibition through Skye Dee Miles. Soon, exhibition legend Jimmy Hopper will arrive at the Vegas Room on August 21 and 22. For more information and to book, stop at thevegasroom.com.
Even the iconic Sand Dollar Lounge on Spring Mountain Road kicks in. The blues bar has temporarily evolved to Revelré, a table service concept with an expanded menu, signature cocktails and entertainment such as Gold Top Bob on August 13, Jonny Hazard on August 14, Thee Mess Arounds on August 15 and Jimmy Powers V on August 16. Shows are loose, but reservations are required in thesanddollarlv.com.
Newer living-style displays to return to the Strip are located at Napoleon’s piano bar in Paris Las Vegas and the renovated Indigo living room near Bally’s Las Vegas. None of those places brought music when their respective resorts reopened, however, you can now pay attention to the melodies with your cocktail and even walk around them through the closed walkway between the two Caesars Entertainment properties.
