‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ Just Won Anime Of The Year

I can’t forget a time when everyone had forgotten that CDPR had even announced that Cyberpunk 2077 was getting another major anime, because everyone was enthralled by the game’s release and its problems, and we just didn’t hear about it for an incredibly long time. . .

Well, when Cyberpunk: Edgerunners finally arrived from TRIGGER, it surprised everyone by how smart it was. It was more than just a companion, it was something that expanded the entire world of Night City and was so popular that it sparked a resurgence in the game’s sales two years after its release.

Now, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has won one of the anime awards, as it won Anime of the Year at the Anime Awards 2023. It is not an Emmy, but it is an international one for anime, this is as close as it can get get.

It’s a pretty attractive list of awards, considering Edgerunners has only won one other major award, but still Anime of the Year, which is Best English Dub for Zach Aguilar as David in Edgerunners. Otherwise, here’s the list where Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, and SPY x FAMILY have won the most awards individually:

If you’re keeping score, that’s four awards for Demon Slayer, six for Attack on Titan and five for SPY x FAMILY, with two awards just for Anya Forger alone. Well-deserved.

There are no plans for a second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. That’s not to say that they will never make an animated series again, however, as we know, a second season of TRIGGER in particular is difficult to get, and this was what was intended. to be a unique project. So enjoy it as a complete story.
