DCU Rumors Roundup: SUPERGIRL Cast; BOOSTER GOLD creative team; TEEN TITANS movie and more

With Warner Bros. ‘ new DCU still in its infancy (Superman will be the first film and Creature Commandos the first series), we haven’t noticed many rumors circulating online. But as production on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow gears up and James Gunn and Peter Safran slowly begin to turn their attention to long-term projects, we have some intriguing reports to share.

There’s been virtually radio silence on the live-action Teen Titans movie since it was first announced in March, however, a recent recap from Production Weekly purported to reveal key members of the team:

“The Teen Titans are more separated than ever. . . until Damian Wayne recruits Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, and the new Kid Flash to join him in a fight against his own grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul. “

This is possibly true (it has never been shown or debunked), however, we now hear that the film will be “re-released” with a pre-existing team, which may also imply that the roster will consist of Kid Flash (Wally West). Array Robin (Dick Grayson), Aqualad (Garth) and Wonder Girl (Donna Troy).

Next, Nexus Point News reports that Danny McBride, John Carcieri, and Jeff Fradley, the artistic team of the HBO Max original series The Righteous Gemstones, are no longer tied to the TV series Booster Gold, although their involvement is worth considering. It was never shown in the first place!

However, this source has been in the most sensible DC-related news lately, and the site also reiterates that Kumail Nanjiani is still on board to play the lead role.

We also have a new casting rumor, with ReelFilm claiming that Toby Kebbell (Dead Man’s Shoes, Fantastic Four, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) is in talks for an undisclosed role in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. We’d say Kebbell is probably a candidate for the role of the evil Krem of the Yellow Hills.

Finally, and this is rarely a rumor, but we didn’t think it warranted an entire article, Superman director James Gunn has revealed that Metamorpho wouldn’t possibly be a fully CGI creation, meaning actor Anthony Carrigan would likely be transformed. in character through prosthetics for at least a few scenes.

Carrigan, the only lead actor we didn’t see in recent photos from the set, leading to the hypothesis that he would come to life via VFX.
