The University of Surrey offers a fully funded PhD scholarship on the topics of deep learning for audiovisual scene research, with business spouse Bang & Olufsen. This task aims to expand new deep learning strategies for investigating audiovisual scenes in a smart home environment. This will mean the use of heterogeneous sensors, e. g. Microphones and cameras, to analyze the resources and opportunities they provide in the acoustic environment. Responsibilities to consider as they come with audiovisual source separation, location/tracking, and detection/popularity of audiovisual occasions.
Successful applicants will be supervised through Professor Wenwu Wang and Professor Philip Jackson at the Vision Center, SPE: The PhD will be at CVSSP. They will benefit from the resources of CVSSP, the Surrey Institute for Human-Centric AI and the potential Secondary and Prospective Opportunities at Bang

All applicants will need to have (or expect to obtain) a top-notch degree in a virtual field (mathematics, science, or engineering) or an MSC by far (or an average of 70%) and a strong interest in pursuing studies in this domain. It is also beneficial to enjoy what applies to the field of studies.
