“Twisters” director Lee Isaac Chung used the saying “show, don’t tell” when it came to depicting the weather update on screen.
Chung, who directed the franchise film focused on tornado chasers played by Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, told CNN that he chose to explicitly include the term climate replacement in the film.
While Lee, who grew up on the Arkansas-Oklahoma border, added that his own “exposure to excessive weather as a child” left a “very big imprint” on how he perceives nature, he didn’t need the film itself to “preach” any kind of political statement.
He continued, “That sense of awe and awe was all I sought to maintain in this movie, that it’s not just a summer blockbuster about how to run away from tornadoes and hide. I sought to ensure that we also revere and honor the Good aspect of this power.
Lee previously told The Hollywood Reporter that as part of his sustainability factor, he was looking for more films to include natural elements.
“I would love to see more stories that explain our identity in relation to Earth, and I felt like this movie was a possibility to do that,” Lee said. “Every time Hollywood does something to combat climate change, I think we have to keep a positive attitude and let others have fun. As a production, we must motivate other people to embrace the world of herbs. This can greatly influence other people to make possible smart choices in their nature dates, to examine what’s going on. on this Earth and perceive how we can be better stewards of the planet.
