American Born Chinese centers on a teenager named Jin Wang (played by Ben Wang), who struggles to make compatibility with his peers.
She is tasked with taking care of exchange student Wei-Chen (played by Jimmy Liu).
However, he was then thrust into a battle between mythical Chinese gods.
The show is based on a 2006 graphic novel of the same title that in turn draws elements from Chinese folk stories and mysticism.
Crazy rich Asians Michelle Yeoh and Everything Everywhere All At Once Huy Quan have supporting roles in the acclaimed series.
After it made it’s debut on Disney+ last year, the show was praised by both viewers and critics.
It lately has a 94% score on the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregation with an audience score of 82%.
But it turns out that the series hasn’t found an echo and that the logo has to be disconnected.
However, many loyal fans of the series took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their anger at the decision.
An angry viewer: “I just found out that Disney canceled ‘American Born Chinese’ and I’m very upset. “
A second echoed: “American born Chinese was cancelled?? I’m sad ? I felt like it found its rhythm at the end of the season.”
