The Actors’ Equity Association said it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Walt Disney World Resort after Disney agreed to provide Covid-19 testing to resort players.
“We are convinced that testing is a vital detail to secure an office for fair players, and today I am very happy to see that Disney World has accepted,” said Kate Shindle, president of the Actors’ Equity Association. “With the news that Disney will do the tests for Equity artists and others in the park, I am pleased to announce that the Equity Executive Committee has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Disney to bring artists back from equity.”
Conflict-affected exhibits include Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo – The Musical, Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.
It is not yet known when one of those screens might reopen. Remember, with physical distance requirements, they play with very low capabilities, so Disney might decide to continue to maintain some dark screens only for economic reasons.
