ORLANDO, Fla. – Disney World offers annual pass holders the option to cancel their passes due to limitations caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Passholders have until Tuesday to cancel their pass.
Those who cancel their pass may be eligible for a refund. Disney World explained on its online page how it plans to calculate those refunds, which will be based on a number of factors, adding up the amount of the down payment, the activation date, and whether it is a new pass or renewal.
Passholders who wish to cancel their pass must use the link provided in the email sent to passholders on July 14, according to Disney. If passholders do not have access to email, Disney says they call the Passholder Hotline at 407-939-7277.
Since its reopening in July, Disney World theme parks have required all visitors to have a park reservation through their new Disney Park Pass formula. The formula is for Disney to manage the attendance of its parks. However, some pass holders are frustrated by the limited availability of park passes.
The Disney World online page offers a schedule of park pass availability to help visitors plan their tours. The calendar indicates that there is no longer availability for passholders on certain days, with a lot of availability for Disney Resort visitors and those with theme park tickets.
In an investors call last week, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that half of the attendance at Disney World’s theme parks comes from locals/in-state visitors.
