Drama series Mob through Brian Grazer, Terence Winter and Nicholas Pileggi in showtime plays

EXCLUSIVE: Showtime develops a one-hour drama through Brian Grazer, Terence Winter and Nicholas Pileggi. It will be produced through Showtime and Imagine Television Studios.

Written through Winter, the author of Boardwalk Empire, the untitled series is animated through the detailed timeline of Pileggi’s U.S. crimes, which is also the story of corruption in the United States, noticed through the eyes of the mafia’s first family.

Winter Executive produces with Pileggi e Imagine’s Grazer and Samie Kim Falvey.

Pileggi, who began his career as a journalist, is best known for writing Wiseguy: Life in a Mafia Family and Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas, which were adapted respectively in the Martin Scorsese Goodfellas and Casino films. Pileggi co-wrote the screenplays for the films with Scorsese. Pileggi also produced Scorsesese’s most recent feature film, The Irishman. He produced with Grazer the American Gangster directed through Ridley Scott.

Grazer (Empire, 24, Arrested Development) is the executive manufacturer of the current season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga for Hulu; the next Filthy Rich for Fox and Genius: Aretha for NatGeo; NBC pilot Langdon; an Empire Cookie spin-off with Taraji P. Henson on Fox;; the anthology Outliers, in progression on HBO Max; such as the Gossip Staring Cindy Adams and SuperVillain: The Rise and Fall of Tekashi 6ix9ine document series for Showtime.

Winter created and produced the HBO public drama Boardwalk Empire. He also co-created and produced HBO’s rock’n-roll drama Vinyl. In addition, Winter, a screenwriter and executive maker of the popular HBO drama The Sopranos, for which he won 4 Emmy Awards and 3 WGA Awards. Winter, nominated for an Oscar for his screenplay The Wolf of Wall Street, wrote a television series for HBO Max set in the world that Matt Reeves created for the film Batman.
