Dubai: Three academics from Sharjah Indian School were injured in the crash of an Air India Express flight in Kozhikode, Kerala state, southern India, on Friday night.
The students, all siblings, are recouping at a local hospital and said to be out of danger.
Pramod Mahajan, director of the Indian in Sharjah, showed Gulf News that the 3 scholars, all brothers, are in good condition and are being treated at Aster MIMS – Calicut Hospital.
The students, two sisters and a brother, were known as Ishal Chullikullavan (tenth grader), Insha Chullikulavan (fifth grader) and Mohammad Zishan Chullikulavan (third grader).
“Everyone at Sharjah Indian school and I are grateful that the children and their mom who traveled on the fatal flight are safe. We’ve talked to mom and kids and they’re in good condition,” Mahajan said.

Mahajan said the coVID-19 pandemic scenario in the United Arab Emirates had destroyed the lives of many others. “These young people would not have flown or left our school if the pandemic had not affected other people so much.”
He said the scholars were very bright. Ishal, the eldest of the 3 brothers, is brilliant. “He passed his grade 10 board exams with great success, achieving a score of 95%. He placed 10th in the school’s general classification. Ishal is a very bright and hard-working child. We miss her at school. His brothers and sisters are also very bright and squeaky, full of life and energy. We’re glad the kids and their moms are safe. »
Mahajan said the school is in touch with the family along with Indian associations in Sharjah to render any help to the family at the hospital in Calicut.
