Eddie Murphy’s Haunted Mansion Remake in Disney Works

Disney is a new version of Eddie Murphy’s Haunted Mansion, starring Ghostbusters screenwriter Katie Dippold, to write the screenplay.

The live-action film will be produced through Dan Lin and his banner Rideback, following the good luck of his remake of Aladdin, which grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office.

Eddie Murphy starred in the 2003 Disney film, which grossed $182 million worldwide.

However, the film did not win as well as the studio expected, and lately it’s only 14% on the Tomatometer on the movie scoring site Rotten Tomatoes.

The synopsis of readings:

True workados agent Jim Evers (Eddie Murphy) is accused through his wife, Sara (Marsha Thomason), of neglecting his son (Marc John Jefferies) and daughter (Aree Davis), so he takes the circle of family members on vacation.

Along the way, the circle of relatives stops at a sinister mansion that Jim has been invited to sell, only to notice that he is obsessed by Master Gracey (Nathaniel Parker); his serious butler, Ramsley (Terence Stamp); and two other servants who want help to break a curse.

Interestingly, this is rarely the first time a new version of Haunted Mansion has been being prepared, as Guillermo del Toro spent years looking to expand a new version with Ryan Gosling, but it was considered a little too scary for the film’s young audience.
