First announced in 2020, Eiyuden Chronicle is a wonderful 2D RPG where you can recruit a large number of characters. It is developed through a team led by Yoshitaka Murayama, who was one of the lead architects of the original Sugikoden, a beloved Japanese role-playing game. Series known for its war epics, characters and a wonderful cooking mini-game.
Eiyuiden Chronicle generated a lot of excitement when it was first announced and temporarily reached its crowdfunding goals. The task was later delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team released a spin-off titled Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising in 2022, which we call “a fun adventure that stands on its own merits. “
In addition to the Eiyuden Chronicle date, today’s Nintendo Direct also included a reveal of Unicorn Overlord, a new tactical RPG from Vanillaware, as well as a remaster of Paper Mario: Thousand-Year Door. Suffice it to say, RPG enthusiasts are dining in the moment.
