Elon Musk reveals his love for anime and his desire to build a mecha

In a series of recent tweets, Elon Musk, thankfully, only revealed his love for a few anime, but also his preference for building a mecha.

From an Oct. 14 tweet, Musk said he likes Makoto Shinkai’s movie Your Name and explained that he’s a fan of Studio Ghibli films like Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke.

The reaction of other people online has been to change the name to “Weeblon Musk,” a reference to the derogatory term weeaboo for anime enthusiasts and other parts of Japanese pop culture.

Musk quickly corrected this moniker with the more appropriate “Elon-chan. “

After this, he simply stated that “it’s time to create a mecha,” which, given Musk’s engineering background, resulted in much of the explosion.

Aside from the seemingly technically demanding situations of building something like this, what I liked most about this was that Musk used the correct spelling for mecha.

Anyway, since companies like Boston Dynamics are creating robots like the Atlas, no one is serious about controllable mechs.

Sure, you have amateur projects, but asking, like Musk, with all his resources, to tackle them would be fascinating.

While I tend to be more interested in the fictional variety of mechs, there are plans to build a life-size cellular Gundam suit in the coming years.

Maybe Musk will call them? After all, having a mecha to help with Mars exploration could be anything Musk is interested in and you have to start somewhere, so why not build a Gundam?
