The First Descendant teased Season 1 with a 15-second ad that promised an August 20 release date. Later. . . They lifted an embargo that was supposed to be in effect on Monday, releasing a lot more information about the season, adding a full trailer containing the funniest first few seconds I’ve ever seen.
That snow-shaking user in question is Hailey, the new ice hero who will be the new character coming to this season’s launch, and like other hero-based games, it looks like we’re going to get a consistent one. In addition to Hailey, here’s what’s coming in season 1 of The First Descendant, but first, we’ll start with Hailey’s official description:

Ultimate Freyna – This is the definitive edition of the third hero that players will download in the game, the venomous Freyna. We don’t know what her exclusive powers will be, but we saw it in the trailer. The Ultimate Edition of her also includes a new story for her character that explores her story and triggers this Ultimate transformation.
New Invasion Dungeon: This is what “happens randomly” in two existing dungeons, where players will have the option to upgrade to a new invasion logo that grants more rewards for faster cleanups.
Reversal Boost: This will be a new formula that “unlocks new potentials and abilities” within characters where you can obtain more powers in “Hunting, Attributes, Recovery, Survival and Seasons” that will progress the season. I swear, this game still has a lot of translation issues with those promotional materials, as I’m not sure what exactly it means, or if it’s season-specific and will disappear once it’s finished.
New Boss: This would be Death Stalker, a new, tougher Colossus that will take the combat beyond Gluttony and is based on poison. There are some hints that it could come with a storybook element, but again, it’s not entirely clear.
New Weapons: There’s an attack rifle called Dig that offers a hard shot when attacking enemies and is in the War Pass. Frost Watcher is a scout rifle that appears in Season 1 content and is intended for the Ice Descendants, Viessa, and Hailey.
There are also some taunts about a “mysterious sales agent” who will appear in the game. The first thing that came to mind is Destiny’s Xur, but we’ll see exactly what they mean.
So, I’m not sure how at least some of those things will work, since Invasion Dungeons and Reversal Boost are as transparent as they can be, but there’s no doubt that the main continuation of the season will be Hailey and Ultimate Freyna for the most of players. Season 1 of The First Descendant will premiere on August 29.
