The task of building a new cinema in Nottinghamshire city, as well as 132 new houses and a variety of food and beverage outlets, is expected to be delivered before the end of the year.
The eight-screen cinema, which will be operated through Arc Cinema, is the largest refurbishment of Beeston Square.
The advance of cinema slowed through the coronavirus pandemic, resulting in delays in painting structures and the delivery of fabrics to the site.
Despite this, the cinema will be able to settle in December, with the opening date now scheduled for June 2021.
Cllr Steve Carr, deputy director of Broxtowe City Council, said: “The assignment is progressing very well. COVID held him for about five weeks, however, the on-site team has checked to catch up a lot in weeks.
“It is very likely that the switch to Arc Cinema will take its place in December, when the operator will expand it and prepare it for its inauguration. Beeston is one of the few luxury Arc cinemas in the UK and we are very happy to welcome, the in the neighborhood
“Lately there is no singles cinema in Broxtowe, everyone is in town. With our student population, the night economy in Beeston will be much larger than it is, and the city council sees this progression as an opportunity to stimulate business in the city. and regenerate the wider area.”
