There’s nothing like a movie premiere and even though there’s so much content online now, it still feels pretty special.
So, naturally, United Kingdom moviegoers were pretty shattered when rumors surfaced this week that one of the major cinema chains, Cineworld, closed some of its theaters.
Sky News reported that the cinema giant plans to finish around a quarter of its 100 screens across the country.

The chain also encompasses 25 other Picturehouse cinemas.
Apparently, the company needs to negotiate the rental costs of some of its other sites, while another 25 sites would remain intact.
According to the publication, the proposals are expected to become more official in the coming weeks.
If the closures continue, it is unclear exactly what will happen, although one suggestion is that other film giants could take over if a deal cannot be reached, this has not been confirmed.
Two centers in the UK have already closed their doors for years, in Runcorn and Bristol.

The closures came after the company filed for bankruptcy in the United States in September 2022.
While it’s not yet clear which venues might close, here are the venues where Cineworld operates lately:
A spokesperson for Cineworld told Digital Spy: “We are still reviewing our features, but we are commenting on rumours and speculation. “
