According to the official statement of the high-level meeting, it was reported that there are no cases of Mpox in the country lately. Based on this assessment, the threat of a giant outbreak with sustained transmission is considered low.
It is worth noting that the WHO re-declared Mpox a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) on August 14, given its prevalence and spread in many parts of Africa.
The Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister was informed that Mpox infections usually clear up on their own and last between two and four weeks. Patients with Mpox regularly receive medical care and supportive treatment. Transmission of Mpox occurs mainly through close and prolonged contact with an inflamed person. This happens largely through sexual contact, direct contact with the patient’s body or injury fluids, or through infected clothing or bedding from an inflamed person.
In this regard, the health government at the state level, the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) assemblies at the state level and issues of access levels have been sensitized.
The Secretary of Health that the following measures have already been taken in the past week:
The Prime Minister’s Chief Secretary ordered to strengthen surveillance and take effective measures for the early detection of cases. He also ordered to provide the network with laboratories for early diagnosis. Currently, 32 laboratories are supplied for Array
Mishra ordered that protocols for the prevention and treatment of the disease be widely disseminated. He also highlighted an awareness campaign among health care providers about the symptoms and symptoms of the disease and the need to activate notification to the surveillance system.
The assembly took position in the presence of Dr. V. K. Paul, Member of NITI Aayog; Apurva Chandra, Secretary (Health and Family Welfare); Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary (Health Research); Krishna S. Vatsa, Member Secretary (National Disaster Management Authority); Sanjay Jaju, Secretary (Information and Outreach); and Govind Mohan, Home Minister-designate, as well as officials from other ministries.
