Warning: This article contains spoilers from all Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
Shortly after Avengers: End of the Game, the most successful film of all time, Kevin Feige, director of Marvel Studios, announced the upcoming films and television series that will constitute phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in San Diego Comic-Con. He promised a solo film for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, an Eternals film starring Angelina Jolie, a Shang-Chi film starring Simu Liu and a Reboot of Blade with Mahershala Ali. It also announced a handful of sequels for the big screen and television screens to be broadcast on Disney, the company’s broadcast service, unveiled on November 12.
However, it is highly likely that the release dates of many of these films and exhibitions are delayed, as cinemas are approaching the global close in reaction to the recent global spread of COVID-19. Disney has announced that it will indefinitely delay Black Widow, originally scheduled to premiere may May 1. Production also stopped for several of the projects being filmed at the beginning of the epidemic, adding the film Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings. and disney loki, WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier exhibits.
Delays only carry additional uncertainty in the long run of the Marvel cinematic universe, which has grown in recent months due to studio mergers. Just over a decade ago, Disney bought Marvel Studios. Prior to Disney’s arrival, Marvel Studios was in trouble and had already sold the rights to its most popular characters: they gave Spider-Man to Sony and the X-Men and Fantastic Four to Fox. After Marvel Studios produced Iron Man’s wonderful good fortune, Disney was quick to build a complete franchise from characters long eclipsed by the X-Men and Spidey. Iron Man, Thor and Captain America have their winning heroes.
In 10 years, Disney has built the world’s most profitable film franchise by building a nested universe of characters, provoking long-running videos with post-credits scenes, and experimenting with other genres to change the superhero’s formula.
Disney has been so successful that they must now redeem those favorite Marvel characters from other studio enthusiasts. In 2017, Sony and Disney teamed up to create Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now they have come to an agreement to continue making films about Peter Parker together, even when Sony produces other films only in Spider-Verse, with characters such as Venom and Miles Morales.
In 2019, Disney acquired Fox, well merging the Marvel cinematic universe with the X-Men cinematic universe. The franchise will be absolutely rebooted with new actors under the aegis of Disney. Feige demonstrated at Comic-Con that new films from The Fantastic Four and X-Men are being prepared. This means we may see X-Men fighting the Avengers or the Fantastic Four villains invading the upcoming Marvel movies.
We’ve described all the upcoming Marvel videos, and even discussed some sequels and consequences that are under way. Here is a list of upcoming Marvel videos in order:
Universe: X-Men
The once-triumphing Film Universe of Fox’s X-Men ended not with an explosion, but with a groan. Dark Phoenix, the most recent access to X-Men’s main story, was bombed in the box’s workplace in the spring of 2019. Given the recent problems of the X-Men franchise, Disney will likely restart the series and release it in the future. .
But before Disney can provide new versions of the X-Men, they’ll have to send with New Mutants, the last superhero movie Fox made before Disney took over. The film has a promising cast, which includes Anya Taylor-Joy of Split, Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones, Charlie Heaton of Stranger Things and Henry Zaga thirteen reasons why. But the film’s revivals, the dark-box workplace in Dark Phoenix and the recent coronavirus outbreak have delayed the film’s release date several times.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Black Widow nevertheless receives a long-awaited solo film, enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer than expected to watch it. The film, originally scheduled for release on May 1, was delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Scarlett Johansson has given the impression in six Marvel films, starting with Iron Man 2 in 2010, but has never played the title role. Black Widow will be a prequel, taking position after Captain America: Civil War and before Thanos fights the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War. Black Widow is on the run, fugitive from the law after deciding to help Captain America in Civil War, and travels to Budapest to confront the secrets of his past.
There, he meets other killers who were trained on the same show as a teenager, adding characters played through Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz. They face the evil Taskmaster, who, in the comics, reflects the struggle of his war-fought sides and trains other supervillains in hand-to-hand combat. Run Cate Shortland.
Universe: Spiderverse
Jared Leto, who in the past played the Joker in a DC Comics film, joins Sony in playing a Spider-Man villain. The film will focus on the vampiric character Morbius and will be directed through Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, Life). Michael Keaton, who played Spidey’s Vulture nemesis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, is expected to appear in the film, combining the two films in combination and, in all likelihood, driving Morbius to Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man film.
Universe: Spiderverse
Although Sony and Disney have teamed up to launch Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, Sony independently produces a series of films based on Spider-Man cartoon characters in a separate universe. Poison first. Tom Hardy played Eddie Brock, a guy who lit up with an alien symbiote named Venom. Venom has become a type of antihero in the film, fighting the villain, Riot. A medium credit advance suggests that Venom will get a sequel with Woody Harrelson betting on a villain named Carnage.
Despite its lukewarm critical reception, the first film was a huge hit in the workplace. And Holland’s Spider-Man didn’t appear in Venom’s first film, enthusiasts expect it to look like it in the next. Andy Serkis directs the sequel.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
The studio hired independent director Chloe Zhao (The Rider and Songs My Brothers Taught Me) to make this film about a world superhero organization. Feige announced at Comic-Con that Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani and Brian Tyree Henry would be the cast of stars.
In the comics, a race called Celestials (the other golden people of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) creates the Eternals, another superhuman and immortal people. The Eternals have, among other things, the powers of flying, telepathy, and manipulation of matter. The Lords are guilty of protecting the Earth.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Marvel Studios has accelerated a film based on the Shang-Chi character. He will be the first Asian marvel superhero to get a solo movie. Simu Liu, best known for his role in CBC’s comedy Kim’s Convenience, will play the superhero. He will face the real Mandarin, played through Tony Leung, not the actor played by Ben Kingsley, whom we saw impersonating as Mandarin in Iron Man 3. Awkwafina also has a role yet to be announced in the film.
Marvel has summoned two promising filmmakers for the project. Screenwriter Dave Callaham, who also wrote the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984, will write the screenplay. Destin Daniel Cretton, short-term director 12, will lead. Leaders probably expect Shang-Chi to have as great a cultural effect as Black Panther.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Doctor Strange receives a sequel and, given its title, it turns out that the Marvel Cinematic Universe Fans are about to be taken to the multiverse. Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as a hero, and Elizabeth Olsen, who played Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the Marvel films, will sign up for her place.
Previous Marvel videos (such as, minor spoiler alert, Spider-Man: away from home) have mocked the concept of parallel universes where there are other versions of the same heroes. But that’s the way the videos are directed, especially if the writers eventually plan to introduce the X-Men to the Marvel cinematic universe without having to go where they’ve been hiding for a decade. Many enthusiasts believe that the arrival of a multiverse will lead to a cinematic adaptation of the Secret Wars comic book plot, which comes to the destruction of many universes. The Russo brothers, who have directed two Captain America films and two Avengers films, have even expressed interest in making a Secret Wars film.
Universe: Spiderverse
Technically, Sony has the rights to Spider-Man and all his friends and enemies. Sony and Marvel Studios have teamed up for Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Away from Home, and Sony has allowed Peter Parker to appear in MCU films such as Captain America: Civli War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. After a brief word war on compensation, the two studios came to an agreement in September to make at least one more Spider-Man solo film and some other MCU film with Spider-Man.
Tom Holland will play Peter again in the third inning. Since he turned out to be the guy (or boy) behind the mask in Spider-Man: away from home, Peter will have to take into account the consequences of this film. As for the villain, don’t be surprised if Michael Keaton comes back as Vautour. Spider-Man: Homecoming has provoked the advent of Sinister Six at the MCU, the mischievous super team led by Vulture that afflicts Spidey in the comics.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
There’s a new Thor in town, and her call is Jane Foster. Natalie Portman announced at San Diego Comic-Con that she would be returning to the franchise to wield Thor’s hammer in the upcoming film. This gender substitution is unprecedented: a Thor woman took over in the comics in 2014.
Chris Hemsworth will also return, as will Tessa Thompson, who once showed in Comic-Con that, yes, his character Valkyrie is queer. Valkyrie, he says, is Asgard’s new ruler and “finds a queen” in the next film. Director Taika Waititi, who proved that the god of thunder can be fun in Thor: Ragnarok and earned $854 million in the box in the process, will also return for Thor’s fourth film.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Marvel Studios director Feige has already shown that Black Panther 2 is performing. Ryan Coogler has already signed up to write and direct the sequel. Presumably, Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and the rest of the stars of the first film will probably point to a film for the time being.
Feige has also sparked imaginable referred films for some of Black Panther’s key characters, adding Black Panther’s brightest younger sister, Shuri (Letita Wright) and hard warrior Okoye (Danai Gurira). “I think Shuri is amazing and you’ll see her a lot more in our universe,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “Okoye, I think I’d watch 3 action videos just Okoye.”
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Marvel reboots Blade with Mahershala Ali from Moonlight and True Detective as the star. Feige announced the comic-con when he invited Ali to the stage.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Guardians of the Vol Galaxy. The progression of 3 was a roller coaster ride. The film was scheduled for 2020 until Disney fired James Gunn, who directed the first two Guardian films, in July after reviewing several of his old tweets. The cast then aired a joint to Gunn’s aid.
Eight months after its initial decision, Disney announced on March 15 that it had rehired Gunn to direct the film. Gunn had once apologized for the old tweets, which he described as “unfortunate provocative efforts,” and Disney executives allegedly settled for the apology.
Before Gunn rehired him through Disney, he signed with Warner Bros. to write and direct a sequel to Suicide Squad. Marvel Studios agreed to generate Guardians 3 after Gunn finishes Suicide Squad 2, so it’s unclear when the film will be released.
The most recent film in the Guardians trilogy could release at least one spin-off. In a post-credit scene for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the plagues performed through Sylvester Stallone, Michelle Yeoh and others communicate about bringing together a fractured team of heroes.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Brie Larson will reinterpret his role as the toughest superhero in the universe in a sequel to Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel made his debut in a film set in the 1990s. The last time we saw Captain Marvel in Avengers: End of Game, she took a break from her patrols in the universe in search of villains to help protect The Land of Thanos. It is not known whether Captain Marvel 2 will take a stand between the occasions of Captain Marvel and Endgame or after Thanos’ defeat.
Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Feige showed on a Comic-Con panel that Marvel Studios plans to reboot the Fantastic Four franchise, have not yet set a date for the film. Since then, rumors have circulated that the fan favorite villain, Doctor Doom, will become the main antagonist of the Long-Term Avengers films.
Marvel Studios had the rights to the Fantastic Four (or X-Men) for many years. 20th Century Fox has made three other films about the superhero team, starring two other actors, but they all disappointed critics and audiences. Now that the Disney-Fox merger is over, Marvel Studios (which is a subsidiary of Disney) will have a chance in the Fantastic Four.
Universe: Spiderverse
According to early reviews, Sony introduced a sequel to In the Spider-Verse even before its release. The film will probably focus more on Miles Morales than other Spider-People now that he has learned to handle his paintings.
Universe: Spiderverse
In Spider-verse, enthusiasts crave Gwen Stacey and Penni Parker, two from Spider-People’s chosen universe. Expect them to lead the group, along with female heroes such as Spider-Woman, in this spin-off film.
Universe: X-Men
While the rest of the X-Men would possibly be destined for the dumpster, Deadpool’s videos have been a major hit for Fox, and Disney will most likely stay ryan Reynolds to play the Merc with a Mouth. Disney has not yet shown production of a third Deadpool film, and some enthusiasts have feared that R-rated films may not fit Disney’s healthy image. But Reynolds turned to social media to joke about the Disney-Fox merger and chart that he would reinterpret the role under the Disney banner.
When the merger was first announced, he posted a photo of Deadpool escorted out of Disneyland. After the merger, he created a photo of himself at Marvel Studios, jokingly saying he had auditioned for the character of “Anthony Stark”. In all likelihood, this means that discussions, if not production, for the third Deadpool film are ongoing.
Universe: Spiderverse
Despite reports that Sony had left the film, or even split into two other solo films for Silver Sable and Black Cat, a Venom manufacturer recently said that the film was still in progress, but that the writers had rearranged the script.
Sony recruited Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love – Basketball, Beyond the Lights) to direct the film about Silver Sable and Black Cat. It is not known if it is still linked to the project. The details of the plot are rare, however, Silver Sable, the leader of an elite team, will probably be looking for the talented black thief, until they join the forces. Prince-Bythewood cited films through friends such as Thelma and Louise as inspiration for the film.
Universe: X-Men
Logan surprised almost everyone: the dark and moving superhero film set in 2029 earned critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination for the most productive script. Logan’s director, James Mangold, is executing a script centered on Laura, also known as X-23, Logan’s granddaughter who is a country-wide pastor in this film. He said he “doubted” that the film would take place in the near future, as the X-Men franchise has been suspended since Disney acquired Fox. But he hasn’t given up hope that the film will make it to the big screen.
